Role Objective
A well-established mid-sized law firm in Nairobi, recognized for its deep expertise in commercial and real estate law, is seeking a skilled and driven Advocate to strengthen its growing legal team. The successful candidate will collaborate with the firm to manage conveyancing, commercial transactions, and provide expert legal advisory services.
Oversee a comprehensive range of critical duties and responsibilities central to the role, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and operational excellence. Lead and execute key functions with precision, including strategic planning, team coordination, and performance management. Serve as a primary point of contact for stakeholders, facilitating clear communication and fostering collaborative partnerships. Monitor progress against established benchmarks, proactively identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing corrective measures as needed. Maintain meticulous documentation and reporting to support data-driven decision-making and compliance with regulatory standards. Manage conveyancing processes from initial instruction to final completion, ensuring all procedural steps are executed accurately and efficiently.
Prepare, review, and finalize property and conveyancing documents through drafting, thorough examination, and skillful negotiation.
Draft sale agreements, leases, transfers, securities documentation, and completion-related paperwork with precision and adherence to legal standards.
Perform comprehensive legal due diligence assessments for property-related transactions to identify potential risks, liabilities, and compliance issues.
Ensure seamless property registration processes while maintaining strict adherence to applicable land laws and regulatory frameworks.
Collaborate with land registries, survey offices, and the Ministry of Lands and Physical Planning to secure necessary approvals and registrations.
Prepare and evaluate commercial agreements and transactional documentation to ensure accuracy, compliance, and alignment with business objectives.
Offer expert legal counsel and strategic guidance on commercial and real estate transactions.
Verify that every transaction complies with all applicable statutory and regulatory obligations.
Cultivate and sustain professional rapport with clients and pertinent stakeholders to foster productive partnerships.
Collaborate effectively with lenders, valuers, estate agents, and surveyors to facilitate seamless transaction completion.
Provide prompt legal counsel and regular progress reports to clients.
Handle all other tasks and responsibilities assigned by the firm as needed.
We seek a candidate with a minimum of three years of experience in a comparable role, possessing strong proficiency in industry-standard software and tools. The ideal applicant must demonstrate excellent communication and organizational skills, along with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team. A bachelor’s degree in a related field is required, and relevant certifications are preferred. Responsibilities include managing project timelines, conducting data analysis, and ensuring compliance with company policies. The position demands adaptability to evolving industry trends and a commitment to continuous professional development.
With a minimum of two years of practical experience gained post-admission in a high-volume legal practice setting.
Candidates must hold a current and valid practicing certificate.
A recognized university must have awarded an upper-second-class Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree.
Proven expertise in leadership, strategic planning, and organizational development is essential.
