Our esteemed mid-sized law firm, headquartered in Nairobi and renowned for its proficiency in commercial and real estate law, is actively recruiting a skilled and driven Advocate to strengthen its growing legal team. The successful applicant will collaborate with the firm to manage conveyancing matters, oversee commercial transactions, and provide strategic legal advisory services.

Oversee and execute essential duties and tasks as outlined below, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and operational standards. Lead a range of responsibilities encompassing strategic planning, project coordination, and team management to drive efficiency and productivity. Collaborate with cross-functional departments to streamline processes, resolve challenges, and achieve key performance indicators. Uphold compliance with policies, regulations, and best practices to maintain accountability and operational integrity. Mentor and support team members to foster professional growth, engagement, and high-performance outcomes. Monitor progress, assess performance metrics, and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance overall effectiveness. Maintain clear communication channels to ensure transparency, alignment, and timely execution of priorities.

Manage conveyancing transactions from initial instruction through to final completion, ensuring adherence to legal standards and timelines while coordinating all necessary documentation and stakeholder communications.

Prepare, review, and finalize property and conveyancing documentation with precision, ensuring accuracy and compliance with legal standards throughout the negotiation process.

Draft sale agreements, leases, transfers, securities documentation, and completion paperwork in accordance with established legal and regulatory standards.

Perform comprehensive legal due diligence assessments in connection with real estate transactions to identify potential risks and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

Provide oversight for property registration procedures, ensuring strict adherence to applicable land legislation and regulatory standards.

Engage collaboratively with land registries, survey offices, and the Ministry of Lands and Physical Planning to secure necessary approvals and registrations.

Prepare, examine, and finalize commercial contracts as well as transactional documentation to ensure accuracy, compliance, and alignment with organizational objectives.

Deliver expert legal counsel and advisory services pertaining to commercial and real estate transactions.

Verify that every transaction complies with all applicable statutory and regulatory mandates.

Develop and nurture professional connections with clients and key stakeholders to ensure effective communication and collaboration.

Collaborate seamlessly with lenders, valuers, estate agents, and surveyors to facilitate the efficient completion of transactions.

Provide prompt legal counsel and regular progress reports to clients to ensure they remain well-informed throughout their cases.

Perform all further tasks and responsibilities as assigned by the organization.

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, coupled with at least three years of experience in a comparable role. A minimum of two years’ post-admission experience in a high-volume legal practice setting is required.

A valid practicing certificate must be held.

Holders of an upper second-class Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree from a reputable university are required.
