Reporting to the Relationship Manager for Business Banking, the Relationship Officer – Bashar Banking will oversee and coordinate all Micro Banking clients within their portfolio to ensure alignment with the bank’s strategic goals and objectives.

Oversee and execute a comprehensive range of duties, including but not limited to strategic planning, team leadership, and cross-functional collaboration to drive organizational objectives. Ensure adherence to company policies, industry regulations, and quality standards while fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement. Develop and implement innovative solutions to enhance operational efficiency, productivity, and performance across departments. Monitor progress through data analysis, performance metrics, and regular evaluations to identify trends, mitigate risks, and optimize resource allocation. Serve as a liaison between senior management, employees, and external stakeholders to facilitate transparent communication and alignment with business goals. Lead initiatives that promote employee engagement, professional development, and a positive work environment.

Responsible for onboarding new clients and managing ongoing customer relationships, ensuring seamless transitions and sustained satisfaction through proactive engagement and support.

Responsibilities include integrating retailers and customers into diverse Ecosystem value chains and digital platforms, such as WE and the JAZZY APP.

Loan Processing and Compliance involves meticulously overseeing the end-to-end lifecycle of loan applications, from initial submission to final disbursement, while ensuring strict adherence to regulatory standards and internal policies. This role demands a keen eye for detail to accurately verify applicant information, assess creditworthiness, and mitigate risk exposure. Responsibilities include validating documentation, conducting compliance checks, and coordinating with underwriters, borrowers, and stakeholders to facilitate seamless transactions. Proficiency in loan origination systems, a solid understanding of banking regulations, and the ability to interpret financial data are essential. Candidates should possess strong analytical skills, organizational efficiency, and a commitment to maintaining the highest levels of accuracy and integrity in all processes.

Provide personalized assistance to clients throughout the loan application procedure, conducting on-site evaluations at both business and residential locations to confirm financial details and collateral.

Facilitate prompt loan approval and timely disbursement in adherence to established service level agreements.

Present and secure client requests for approval while ensuring flawless security measures and disbursement processes are maintained throughout all transactions.

Promptly commence collection efforts for accounts that have exceeded their payment deadlines.

Demonstrates expertise in marketing and sales strategies, focusing on driving revenue growth and enhancing brand visibility through targeted initiatives. Responsibilities include developing and executing comprehensive marketing campaigns, analyzing market trends, and identifying customer needs to optimize product positioning. Additionally, collaborates with cross-functional teams to align sales objectives with marketing efforts, ensuring cohesive strategies that maximize profitability and market share.

Develop and execute strategic marketing initiatives to attract and onboard new customers.

Identify opportunities to introduce customers to additional banking products that complement their current accounts or services, thereby increasing revenue per customer while enhancing their financial portfolio.

Build and nurture ecosystems by strategically utilizing existing connections and partnerships to foster growth and collaboration.

Ensures strict adherence to established training protocols and organizational policies, maintaining a consistent and compliant operational framework across all activities.

Conduct training sessions for branch personnel on Bashar Banking lending policies, procedures, and newly launched products.

Maintain strict adherence to credit policies and serve as the primary authority on bank policy within the branch.

Provide exceptional customer service and technical support, addressing inquiries and resolving issues promptly to ensure high levels of client satisfaction. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify recurring challenges and implement solutions that enhance service quality. Maintain accurate records of customer interactions and track issue resolution in the designated system. Portfolio and Relationship Management encompasses the strategic oversight of client portfolios and the cultivation of enduring professional relationships to ensure sustained value creation and alignment with organizational objectives. This role involves meticulous analysis of portfolio performance, proactive engagement with stakeholders, and the implementation of tailored solutions to optimize asset allocation and risk mitigation. Key responsibilities include maintaining comprehensive records, conducting regular reviews, and fostering transparent communication to strengthen client trust and loyalty. Deposit Mobilization and Documentation: Spearhead the expansion of customer deposit portfolios through strategic acquisition and retention initiatives, ensuring meticulous record-keeping and compliance with institutional policies. Develop and implement tailored deposit campaigns, analyze market trends to optimize product offerings, and maintain accurate documentation to support audits and regulatory requirements. Foster strong client relationships to enhance satisfaction and trust while adhering to all internal guidelines and external banking regulations.

Mobilize deposits by proactively engaging with customers to encourage the growth of their savings accounts and other deposit products. Develop and implement targeted strategies to attract new depositors, including outreach campaigns, partnerships, and incentive programs. Collaborate with branch teams and digital channels to ensure seamless customer experiences across all touchpoints. Analyze market trends and customer feedback to refine deposit initiatives and maximize retention. Drive measurable increases in deposit volumes while maintaining compliance with banking regulations and internal policies.

Qualifications

A university degree is required, with a preference for candidates holding degrees in Education, Social Sciences, or Business-related disciplines.

Achieved a cumulative average grade of C+ in the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (GCSE) examination.

Experienced professionals with 3 to 4 years in financial services sales are required for this role.

Proficiency in the microfinance sector is highly desirable.

Proven expertise in project management, with a strong preference for candidates who also possess monitoring and evaluation skills.
