Our client, a well-established mid-sized law firm headquartered in Nairobi renowned for its proficiency in commercial and real estate law, is in search of a skilled and driven Advocate to enhance its growing legal team. The successful candidate will assist the firm in managing conveyancing matters, facilitating commercial transactions, and providing expert legal advisory services.

We are seeking a detail-oriented professional to perform essential functions that include managing project timelines, coordinating cross-functional teams, and ensuring adherence to company policies and industry standards. The role requires strong analytical skills to evaluate data, identify trends, and implement solutions that enhance operational efficiency. Additionally, the position demands excellent communication abilities to liaise with stakeholders, present findings, and facilitate team collaboration. Candidates must possess a minimum of five years of relevant experience, proficiency in industry-specific software, and a proven track record of delivering measurable results. The successful applicant will be responsible for overseeing daily operations, identifying growth opportunities, and maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements.

Responsible for managing conveyancing processes from initiation to completion, ensuring all transactions are handled efficiently and accurately. This role involves overseeing the entire conveyancing workflow, coordinating with relevant parties, and ensuring compliance with legal requirements throughout each stage of the transaction.

Prepare, review, and negotiate property and conveyancing documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance with legal standards.

Draft sale agreements, leases, transfers, securities, and completion documents to formalize transactions.

Perform comprehensive legal due diligence assessments in connection with property transactions to identify potential risks and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

Streamline property registration procedures while maintaining strict adherence to land laws and regulatory mandates.

Collaborate with land registries, survey offices, and the Ministry of Lands and Physical Planning to secure necessary approvals and facilitate registrations.

Prepare, finalize, and assess commercial agreements and transactional paperwork to ensure legal compliance and operational efficiency.

Render legal counsel and strategic guidance concerning commercial and real estate transactions and affairs.

Verify that all transactions adhere to applicable statutory and regulatory mandates.

Cultivate and sustain professional connections with clients and key stakeholders to ensure effective communication and collaboration.

Liaise with lenders, valuers, estate agents, and surveyors to facilitate seamless transaction completion.

Provide prompt legal counsel and periodic progress reports to clients.

Perform any supplementary tasks assigned by the firm as required.

Job Specifications and Qualifications

A minimum of two years of active legal practice experience in a high-volume legal environment is required.

Holding a current, valid professional license is essential for this position.

A minimum qualification of an Upper Second Class Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree from an accredited university is required.

Demonstrated proficiency in critical competencies such as analytical thinking, problem-solving, and effective communication is essential for success in this role. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
