Job Purpose

The Chief Growth Officer will spearhead AMSL’s comprehensive business transformation, driving revenue expansion, optimizing operational frameworks, and advancing service productization, client delivery mechanisms, technology commercialization, and institutional capacity development. This executive will collaborate closely with the Managing Director and Board to evolve AMSL from its current project-based HR consulting and recruitment model into a scalable, high-performing, technology-driven, and diversified HR solutions enterprise.

Oversee and execute critical responsibilities, including maintaining compliance with regulatory standards, leading cross-functional teams to achieve operational objectives, and developing strategic initiatives to enhance efficiency and productivity. Collaborate with senior management to align projects with organizational goals, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budget constraints. Analyze performance metrics to identify trends, propose data-driven improvements, and implement solutions to mitigate risks. Manage stakeholder relationships, fostering clear communication and alignment across departments to drive cohesive decision-making. Additionally, mentor team members, providing guidance and support to cultivate a high-performing and innovative work environment.

The ideal applicant will undertake the following duties:

Translating AMSL’s strategic growth initiatives into comprehensive annual business plans, measurable revenue targets, detailed operational strategies, and dynamic performance dashboards.

We are responsible for driving revenue growth across a diverse portfolio of HR services, including consulting, recruitment, payroll outsourcing, HR outsourcing, training, HR technology, salary surveys, and employer-of-record solutions.

Developing a robust commercial framework involves creating and managing sales pipelines, overseeing key account relationships, monitoring tender processes, crafting strategic proposals, and fostering high-impact partnerships.

AMSL’s services are being structured into standardized, ready-to-market offerings with established scope, pricing, competitive timelines, reusable templates, and stringent delivery benchmarks.

Developing robust operational frameworks that encompass project management, quality assurance, client success initiatives, service-level standards, and performance reporting systems.

Expanding recurring revenue streams by offering payroll solutions, HR outsourcing services, HRMS/ATS subscriptions, retainer-based engagements, training programs, and salary data products.

Facilitating the commercial rollout of AMSL’s HR technology platforms, such as ATS, HRMS, payroll, and HR data solutions, is a key responsibility.

Enhancing recruitment and executive search functions by developing sector-specific desks, cultivating talent pools, managing candidate databases, and improving client retention strategies.

Proactively spearheading and cultivating elite teams that drive excellence across business development, consulting, recruitment, payroll, training, technology, research, and operations.

Overseeing financial performance metrics, project profitability, margin analysis, debtor management, operational risk mitigation, and adherence to compliance standards.

Facilitating regional and international collaborations to enhance talent mobility, deliver employer-of-record solutions, and drive expansion across East Africa.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is essential. A minimum of three years of experience in cybersecurity, IT risk management, or a closely related discipline is required. Strong knowledge of security frameworks, compliance standards, and risk assessment methodologies is mandatory. Proficiency in implementing and managing security controls, incident response procedures, and vulnerability assessments is also necessary. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills are critical for this role. Certification in CISSP, CASM, or an equivalent is highly preferred.

The successful applicant must possess:

A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources Management, Commerce, Economics, Finance, Technology, Organizational Development, or a comparable discipline is required.

A Master’s degree in Business Administration, Strategy, Human Resource Management, Organizational Development, Finance, or a related discipline is highly desirable.

With a minimum of five years in senior management roles, candidates must possess at least a decade and a half of progressive leadership experience.

Demonstrated success in scaling a business unit, professional services firm, HR outsourcing enterprise, recruitment agency, payroll provider, consulting organization, BPO service, SaaS/technology-enabled company, or regional services business is required.

Experienced in driving revenue growth, fostering business development, overseeing operations management, cultivating client relationships, and leading teams.

Proficiency in areas such as HR consulting, recruitment, payroll administration, outsourcing, employee training, HR technology implementation, or professional services is highly advantageous.

International or regional business experience is highly desirable.

Demonstrated expertise in strategic planning, problem-solving, and decision-making, with a strong aptitude for analytical thinking. Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive organizational objectives. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to foster collaboration and influence stakeholders at all levels. Managed employees on payroll and onboarded clients utilizing HR outsourcing services.

We oversee the generation of training revenue through public workshops, corporate trainings, and participant enrollment metrics.

HRMS/ATS clients representing revenue-generating accounts alongside key milestones in technology product commercialization.

Ensuring adherence to project delivery timelines, maintaining high levels of client satisfaction, and upholding rigorous quality assurance standards are essential responsibilities of this role.

Profitability, managing gross margins, debtor control, and operational efficiency form the core focus of this role.
