The Managing Director & CEO will spearhead strategic planning, design, construction, ownership, operation, and maintenance of high voltage electricity transmission grids and regional power interconnectors.
The position also reports to the Board of Directors, overseeing the establishment and execution of the Company’s strategic direction, vision, mission, and objectives. Additionally, it involves the mobilization and management of organizational resources, as well as providing guidance and leadership to ensure the Company fulfills its mandate, as outlined in Sessional Paper No. 4 of 2004 on Energy, the Energy Act No. 1 of 2019, and the provisions of the State Corporations Act, Cap 446.
Oversee a diverse array of essential duties encompassing strategic planning, team leadership, and cross-functional collaboration to drive organizational objectives. Provide direction and support to staff, ensuring alignment with company policies and fostering a culture of accountability and excellence. Facilitate efficient workflows, optimize resource allocation, and monitor performance metrics to enhance productivity and achieve key milestones. Serve as a primary point of contact for stakeholders, resolving escalated issues and maintaining strong relationships built on trust and transparency. Mobilizing resources to execute the Company’s Strategic Plan involves engaging the Exchequer, Development Finance Institutions, Public-Private Partnerships (PPP), and other innovative funding mechanisms.
The role involves spearheading the execution of new revenue streams and business prospects within the organization.
Providing strategic guidance to the Board of Directors regarding potential business ventures aimed at driving the Company’s expansion and long-term viability.
Crafting and executing Human Resource policies alongside an organizational framework that is both transparent and equitable, while simultaneously ensuring the establishment of a well-defined succession plan.
Responsible for executing anti-corruption measures by applying current policies and providing periodic updates to the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACH).
Effectively overseeing corporate risk management, ensuring stringent quality assurance, and implementing robust internal controls are essential responsibilities.

Additionally, the candidate must demonstrate a track record of delivering measurable results in previous positions.
Academic qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, such as Computer Science, Engineering, or Mathematics, or equivalent work experience. Advanced degrees or certifications in specialized areas are advantageous. Proficiency in programming languages like Python, Java, or C++ is essential. Knowledge of software development methodologies and tools, such as Agile or DevOps, is also required. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills are necessary to excel in this role.
A master’s degree earned from a reputable institution is required.

We seek candidates with a strong background in relevant professional experience, demonstrating a proven track record in the field. Ideal applicants will have completed at least three years in a similar role, with hands-on expertise in core responsibilities such as project management, team leadership, or technical operations.
