JOB PURPOSE
The Checker Clerk is responsible for verifying that all trucks comply with the client’s established protocols. Additionally, the role involves ensuring the inspection process is conducted safely and efficiently while maintaining accurate documentation and data in alignment with the Business Unit’s objectives, along with any other tasks as directed by management.
Performs a range of essential duties and fulfills key responsibilities, including but not limited to collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive project objectives, analyzing complex data to inform strategic decisions, and implementing process improvements to enhance operational efficiency. Additionally, the role involves maintaining compliance with industry regulations, mentoring junior staff members, and liaising with stakeholders to ensure alignment with organizational goals. The successful candidate will also be expected to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while demonstrating strong problem-solving skills and adaptability to evolving business needs.
Conduct comprehensive assessments of health and safety risks impacting drivers—including those within our own fleet and subcontracted partners—and implement strategic measures to mitigate or eliminate these risks entirely.
Maintain a consistently safe, secure, clean, and equitable work environment at all times.
Ensure strict adherence to all established driving protocols and fully comply with every site-specific rule and regulation.
Ensure all drivers, whether part of our own fleet or subcontracted at KBL, comply with safety regulations, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to established protocols.
Verify that all goods are properly stacked on a sturdy wooden pallet according to the truck’s loading specifications prior to securing them for transport.
Verify the quantity of packages loaded onto each truck and ensure the totals align with shipping documentation through systematic reconciliation.
Verify that the truck is securely sealed prior to dispatch.
Promptly notify the on-duty driver or escalate any arising issues to the Transport Lead without delay.
Ensuring the precise loading of all trucks in accordance with specified order quantities.
Oversee the loading and unloading operations to ensure efficiency and adherence to safety protocols.
Ensure the driver receives all necessary documentation, including the ERN/GRN and Hauler Copy.
All drivers must submit their Proof of Delivery (POD’s) within the designated timeframes, with any significant discrepancies or irregularities documented and reported without delay.
Ensure that any defective or damaged goods, including shattered items or breakages, are not loaded onto the truck.
Establishes structured communication channels for both company-employed and subcontracted drivers to facilitate their engagement in operational enhancements and development initiatives.
Assist in overseeing the drivers to confirm their active engagement in facilitating the loading operations and managing the queue and docking of trucks, ensuring prompt access to the NCD loading and offloading bays as soon as they are dispatched.
Capable of making prompt, well-informed decisions in a dynamic environment, with a strong emphasis on clear and concise communication regarding any client-related delays in product loading or empty offloading.
Accurately document and update information pertaining to daily operational workloads to ensure comprehensive and current records are maintained.
Verify that merchandise is properly positioned within the trucks and securely fastened before departure.
Ensure cartons and pallets consistently meet the specified quality standards and remain free from any damage.
Execute directives with precision while managing workloads in alignment with production timelines and shipping deadlines.
A bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field is required, though a master’s degree or professional certification such as CPA or CFA is highly preferred. Applicants must demonstrate at least five years of progressive experience in financial analysis, audit, or corporate finance, with proven expertise in financial modeling, risk assessment, and regulatory compliance. Proficiency in advanced Excel, enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, and data visualization tools is essential, alongside strong analytical, communication, and leadership abilities. Exceptional attention to detail, problem-solving acumen, and the capacity to thrive in a fast-paced environment are also critical. Candidates should exhibit ethical integrity, strategic thinking, and a commitment to continuous professional development.
Secondary education encompasses the completion of high school, serving as a foundational stage in academic development. This level of education typically involves students aged 14 to 18, preparing them for higher education or entry-level careers. The curriculum emphasizes core subjects such as mathematics, science, language arts, and social studies, alongside elective courses tailored to individual interests. Successful completion often leads to a high school diploma or an equivalent credential, which is essential for pursuing further academic or vocational opportunities.
The role necessitates prior hands-on experience in data clerical tasks, ensuring familiarity with data entry, record maintenance, and organizational procedures.
Diploma or certificate qualification in Logistics, Freight Forwarding, Purchasing, or Supply Chain Management is considered advantageous.
A university degree is strongly preferred for this position.
A valid driver’s license is required for this position.
