JOB PURPOSE
The Checker Clerk is responsible for verifying that all trucks comply with the client’s specified protocols. This role also involves ensuring that the inspection process is conducted safely and efficiently while maintaining accurate documentation and data in accordance with the Business Unit’s objectives. Additional responsibilities may be assigned at the discretion of management.
Oversee and execute a comprehensive range of critical duties and responsibilities, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and operational standards. This role encompasses the management of key tasks, the fulfillment of established requirements, and the consistent delivery of high-quality outcomes. The incumbent will be accountable for executing core functions, adhering to professional and procedural guidelines, and contributing to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the team.
Conduct comprehensive assessments of health and safety risks associated with drivers, including those employed by the company’s own fleet as well as subcontracted personnel, and implement measures to mitigate or eliminate identified hazards.
Maintain a consistently safe, secure, clean, and equitable workplace environment at all times.
Ensure adherence to all driver guidelines and meticulously follow every site-specific rule and regulation without exception.
Ensure that all drivers, whether part of the owned fleet or subcontracted at KBL, comply with safety standards, including the use of required personal protective equipment (PPE) and strict adherence to safety protocols.
Verify that goods are appropriately stacked on sturdy wooden pallets in alignment with the truck’s designated loading configuration prior to securing them for transport.
Responsibilities include accurately counting and reconciling all packages designated for loading onto a truck to ensure completeness and accuracy.
Ensure the truck is securely sealed prior to dispatch to maintain cargo integrity and compliance with safety regulations.
Escalate any issues pertaining to the truck in a timely manner to the on-duty truck operator or the Transport Lead.
Ensuring that all trucks are loaded with the precise quantity as specified in each order.
Oversee the loading and unloading operations to ensure efficiency, safety, and adherence to protocols throughout the process.
Ensure that the driver receives all necessary documents, including the ERN/GRN and Hauler Copy.
All drivers are required to submit their Proof of Delivery (POD) documents within the designated timeframes, with any significant discrepancies or issues promptly documented and reported.
Ensure that any products failing to meet quality standards, including those with damage or breakage, are not loaded onto the truck.
Establishes structured feedback mechanisms for both company-affiliated and subcontracted drivers, fostering a collaborative environment that drives operational enhancements and continuous improvement initiatives.
Professional Rewriting:
Provide support to the driver supervision team to ensure seamless coordination during loading operations, facilitating prompt truck access to designated NCD loading and offloading bays upon request.
Demonstrates strong decision-making skills in dynamic, high-pressure settings while ensuring clear and timely communication regarding any client-related delays in product loading or unloading operations.
Maintain accurate documentation of daily work activities and associated data to ensure comprehensive records are kept.
Ensure that all goods are properly arranged and securely fastened within the trucks before sealing them for transit.
Ensure all cartons and pallets strictly adhere to specified quality standards and remain free from any damage.
Ensure strict adherence to provided instructions while efficiently organizing tasks according to established production and shipping timelines.

Professional candidates will possess prior experience in clerical roles, preferably within data management, where meticulous attention to detail and organizational proficiency are essential. Responsibilities include accurate data entry, maintaining records, and ensuring information integrity across various systems. Strong typing skills, familiarity with spreadsheet software, and the ability to handle confidential information with discretion are required. Diploma or certificate qualifications in Logistics, Freight Forwarding, Purchasing, or Supply Chain are considered advantageous.
