We are looking to fill the position of Channel Manager – OTC Supermarket within our Consumer Health business unit. The ideal candidate should have strong experience in key account management and FMCG channel sales management, with a proven ability to drive revenue growth, lead high-performing sales teams and strengthen key retail partnerships across the supermarket channel.

In this role, the incumbent will be responsible for developing and executing channel strategies to grow market share, improve product visibility and achieve sales targets within the modern trade channel.

We oversee a wide range of critical tasks, including budget management, strategic planning, and team leadership, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives. Additionally, we are responsible for conducting performance evaluations, fostering professional development, and maintaining compliance with industry regulations. The role demands strong analytical skills, exceptional communication abilities, and the capacity to drive operational excellence in a fast-paced environment.

Channel Strategy and Business Growth: Develop and implement channel strategies to drive revenue growth, profitability, market share and sales targets within the modern trade channel, while identifying new business opportunities and market trends to strengthen the OTC footprint.

Merchandising and Trade Execution: Maintain consistent product availability, enhance visibility, and ensure correct product placement across all supermarket locations. Work closely with marketing and category teams to improve in-store execution and strengthen brand representation.

Demonstrate leadership in driving operational excellence, enhancing customer engagement, optimizing merchandising strategies, and ensuring strict compliance adherence. Cultivate a dynamic, high-performance sales environment characterized by collaboration and a strong customer-centric focus.

Analyze sales performance data to compile comprehensive weekly, monthly, and quarterly sales reports. Develop precise sales forecasts and demand projections to aid supply chain planning efforts. Collect and disseminate market intelligence regarding competitor activities, product performance, customer trends, and pricing fluctuations.

Build and sustain high-value relationships with supermarket chains, convenience stores, metro-marts, distributors, and key decision-makers. Negotiate favorable trading terms, secure product listings, optimize pricing strategies, ensure strategic shelf placements, coordinate promotional initiatives, and establish visibility agreements to drive mutual growth and market penetration.

Account Planning involves developing and implementing customized account strategies and promotional initiatives, engaging in negotiations to secure successful joint business plans with key stakeholders, and ensuring their effective execution.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

A Bachelor’s Degree in Sales & Marketing, Business Administration, or a closely related discipline is required.

We seek candidates with prior expertise in Key Account Management or Modern Trade Channels.

A minimum of five years of hands-on experience in FMCG sales, including at least two years in a supervisory capacity or channel management.

Demonstrated success in surpassing sales objectives, fostering business expansion, and leading teams effectively.

Exceptional skills in leadership, negotiation, coaching, and relationship management are essential.

Proven ability to analyze complex data and generate insightful reports, coupled with a strong aptitude for leveraging sales performance metrics to inform strategic, data-driven decisions.
