Provides assistance with payroll processing tasks, ensuring accurate and timely compensation for employees. Handles data entry, verifies time and attendance records, and resolves discrepancies. Collaborates with HR and finance teams to ensure seamless payroll operations and addresses employee inquiries regarding paychecks and deductions. Gather and validate payroll inputs such as timesheets, overtime hours, allowances, and deductions to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Support the monthly payroll processing for all staff and faculty members.

A strong understanding of payroll systems, tax codes, and regulatory frameworks is essential to execute these duties effectively.
Accurately compute and administer statutory deductions, including PAYE, NAIF, NSSF, and pension contributions.
Compile statutory returns and facilitate prompt remittance to the appropriate regulatory bodies.
Provide support in developing payroll schedules to facilitate audit processes and ensure compliance adherence.
Maintains accurate and up-to-date payroll records to ensure compliance with organizational policies and regulatory standards.
Accurately maintain and update payroll records for all employees.
Monitor employee absences, benefits utilization, and compensation-related modifications, including promotions and terminations.
Securely and systematically organize and maintain payroll documentation.
Responsible for preparing and delivering precise payroll reports and conducting thorough reconciliations to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards.
Support the reconciliation process by aligning payroll accounts with the general ledger.
Prepare payroll summaries, payslips, and reports as needed.
Facilitate the accurate completion of monthly, quarterly, and annual payroll reconciliations in addition to conducting thorough audits to ensure compliance with established standards.

Experience
We are seeking candidates with a minimum of one to three years of specialized experience in the financial sector.
Proficient in utilizing Microsoft Excel with a strong command of its advanced features and functions, including pivot tables, LOOKUP, and data analysis tools, to efficiently manage, manipulate, and analyze complex datasets.
Thoroughness and precision are essential qualities for this role, as meticulous oversight ensures accuracy in all tasks.
Seeking a candidate with a degree in a relevant field, preferably with additional certifications or specialized training. Minimum of five years of hands-on experience in a similar role is required, along with strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Familiarity with industry-specific software and tools is essential, and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team setting is crucial. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are a must to effectively convey complex information. A proven track record of delivering high-quality results under tight deadlines is highly valued.
A Certified Public Accountant (CPA) final stage candidate or an ARCA-qualified professional—or someone with an equivalent certification—is required, or applicants may still be in the process of obtaining such qualifications.
