"Empowering women through leadership, advocacy, and inclusive development."
Echo Network Africa (ENA), previously known as Kenya Women Holding (KWH), is a women-led, female-focused development institution dedicated to empowering, advancing, and advocating for women, with a particular emphasis on young women, women with disabilities, and those from marginalized communities. As a membership-based organization, ENA serves as a catalyst for progress, driving forward the women’s empowerment agenda through strategic partnerships with governments at both national and county levels, as well as collaboration with community-based organizations. By fostering these alliances, ENA creates opportunities to innovate and scale initiatives that enhance women’s security and economic prosperity.
ENA’s work is structured around four core pillars:
1. Women Empowerment – Strengthening women’s livelihoods, health, and inclusion within the aquaculture value chain.
2. Positioning – Empowering women to participate meaningfully in political and democratic processes.
3. Tubule and Gender Mainstreaming – *Tubule* focuses on women’s roles in peace building and national cohesion, while gender mainstreaming ensures that gender perspectives are integrated into all ENA initiatives.
4. Girls Excel Initiative – Addressing critical issues such as Female Genital Mutilation (FGM), period poverty, teenage pregnancies, and early marriage, while promoting girls’ excellence in STEM fields.
