Job Summary

Our client, a leading entity in the hospitality sector, is recruiting a diligent and industrious Kitchen Steward to reinforce back-of-house operations. The successful candidate will uphold stringent cleanliness and sanitation protocols throughout the kitchen, manage dishwashing duties, maintain kitchen equipment, oversee waste disposal, and adhere to food safety and hygiene regulations within a fast-paced five-star hospitality setting. Ideal candidates must demonstrate exceptional organizational skills, robust physical stamina, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to perform efficiently in a high-standard hospitality environment.

Oversee a comprehensive range of duties, including the planning, execution, and monitoring of [specific tasks or projects], while ensuring adherence to established timelines and quality benchmarks. Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to align objectives, streamline workflows, and address operational challenges. Develop and implement strategies to enhance efficiency, productivity, and continuous improvement within the department. Responsible for maintaining accurate documentation, tracking performance metrics, and preparing detailed reports for stakeholders. Serve as a key point of contact for internal and external partners, fostering strong relationships and resolving escalated issues. Promptly and efficiently wash and sanitize dishes, utensils, glassware, pots, pans, and all kitchen equipment.

Ensure that kitchen floors, walls, workstations, storage areas, and food preparation areas remain consistently clean and well-maintained.

Responsible for maintaining appropriate management, storage, and organization of all kitchen equipment and supplies to ensure optimal functionality and accessibility.

Provide essential assistance to chefs and kitchen personnel in meal preparation and kitchen operations as needed.

Ensure waste materials are disposed of in accordance with established hygiene and safety protocols.

Maintain cleanliness and proper upkeep of garbage collection areas consistently.

Responsibilities include replenishing cleaning supplies and promptly informing supervisors when inventory levels are running low.

Responsible for the safe and efficient operation of dishwashing machines and other designated cleaning equipment.

Adhere strictly to established food safety protocols, health regulations, workplace safety guidelines, and sanitation standards at all times.

Provide support to uphold cleanliness standards throughout conferences, banquets, and large-scale events.

Maintain adherence to five-star hospitality cleanliness and presentation standards.

Promptly address cleaning requests originating from the kitchen and food & beverage departments to ensure timely resolution.

Facilitate the execution of thorough cleaning schedules and perform regular upkeep tasks for the kitchen area.

Seeking a candidate with a minimum of five years of experience in a related field, along with a bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant discipline. Must demonstrate proficiency in project management methodologies such as Agile or Scrum, along with exceptional organizational and communication skills. The ideal applicant should possess strong analytical abilities and the capacity to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Familiarity with industry-specific software and tools is essential, as is the ability to meet tight deadlines while maintaining high-quality standards.

A hospitality diploma or certificate is required for this position.

A background in Food Production, Hospitality, or a closely related discipline, evidenced by a relevant certificate, would be beneficial.

Seeking a candidate with at least one to two years of hands-on experience in a Kitchen Steward role within a hotel, restaurant, or hospitality setting, a requirement that cannot be waived.

Proficiency in high-volume or luxury hospitality environments is strongly preferred.

Proficient understanding of food safety protocols, hygiene best practices, and sanitation regulations is required.

Proficiency in the safe handling and application of cleaning chemicals and equipment is essential.

Capable of maintaining physical fitness and standing for extended periods.

Effective collaboration and clear communication abilities are essential to this role.

Demonstrated adaptability to accommodate varied scheduling needs, encompassing weekends and holidays as required.
