Job Summary

The Program Officer will advance the educational and implementation research objectives of the PEP MTCs program while spearheading institutional-level advocacy initiatives. This position is dedicated to enhancing research methodologies, fostering innovative pedagogical approaches, and securing greater funding for cardiometabolic disease (CMD) education and research across CHALK Medical Training Colleges.

Track key performance indicators (KPIs) and other critical metrics to evaluate operational efficiency, identify trends, and assess compliance with organizational standards. Prepare and present detailed reports to stakeholders, highlighting insights, risks, and opportunities for improvement. Maintain data integrity by verifying accuracy and consistency across all sources while adhering to regulatory and confidentiality requirements. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to refine reporting processes and enhance data-driven decision-making across the organization.

Monitor institutional-level research and advocacy initiatives to ensure progress is tracked effectively.

Seeking candidates with a minimum of three years of relevant experience in a comparable role, along with a bachelor’s degree in a related field. Proficiency in industry-standard software applications and tools is essential, along with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. Candidates must demonstrate a proven track record of delivering results in fast-paced environments while maintaining attention to detail. Knowledge of compliance standards and regulatory requirements is a critical component of this position.

A master’s degree in Public Health, Education, Research Methods, or a closely related field is required.

A bachelor’s degree or diploma in a medical-related discipline, including nursing, Clinical Medicine, or laboratory science, is required.

A minimum of three years of hands-on experience in education research, advocacy, or health systems strengthening is required.

Proficiency in understanding chronic maternal diseases (CMDs), non-communicable diseases (NCDs), and the intricacies of workforce development challenges specific to Kenya.

Proven track record in institutional advocacy and collaboration with senior academic leadership is required.

Proven expertise in a range of professional skills and abilities is required for this position. The ideal candidate must demonstrate strong analytical thinking, meticulous attention to detail, and the capacity to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
