In addition, this key position will advocate for enhanced disability inclusion within workplaces and labor markets across seven nations in East, West, and Southern Africa.
The Global Technical Lead (GTL) is responsible for designing and executing the program in accordance with Sight savers’ thematic and program strategies, while spearheading the development of pioneering, inclusive methodologies that foster systemic transformation and deliver lasting, sustainable results.
This is a full-time, on-site position requiring the successful candidate to work from the Sight savers office in Abuja, Accra, Lusaka, or Nairobi, five days a week.
Oversee and manage daily operations to ensure efficient workflow and adherence to established standards. Develop and implement strategic plans to enhance productivity and achieve organizational objectives. Monitor performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions as needed. Lead and mentor a team of professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment. Collaborate with cross-functional departments to align goals and streamline processes. Ensure compliance with industry regulations and company policies while maintaining rigorous quality control. Prepare and present comprehensive reports to senior leadership regarding operational performance and strategic initiatives.
Offer strategic technical guidance for a cross-regional initiative that enhances digital competencies and employability among young individuals with disabilities, while fostering greater disability inclusion in workplaces and labor markets throughout East, West, and Southern Africa.

Experienced in designing, implementing, and scaling programs focused on digital literacy, workforce training, and employment transition, particularly within the global South.
Individuals should possess prior experience collaborating within non-governmental or non-profit organizations, specifically with involvement in programs financed by donors.
Demonstrated success in collaborating with diverse labor market stakeholders—particularly within the private sector—to enhance employment opportunities and promote decent work standards.
Demonstrates a deep comprehension of contemporary advancements in AI and digital technologies, along with their profound impacts on employment and labor markets across African and Global South contexts.
Fluent verbal and written proficiency in English is required, enabling the creation of comprehensive reports and the delivery of impactful presentations.
Analytical and strategic thinking abilities are essential, enabling effective planning at both the programmatic and organizational levels.

Experience working on TVET systems.
