The Northern Rangeland Trust (NRT) is looking to appoint a seasoned and visionary leader to fill the role of Carbon Program Director, entrusted with providing strategic direction and comprehensive oversight for the Northern Kenya Rangeland Carbon Project (NKRCP)—a major, community-driven soil carbon initiative spanning 22 community conservancies across northern Kenya.
The initiative fosters rangeland rehabilitation, safeguards biodiversity, promotes sustainable grazing practices, enhances climate resilience, and strengthens community livelihoods over the long term by leveraging carbon finance and landscape stewardship.
The Carbon Program Director will spearhead strategic, technical, operational, and stakeholder leadership for the Northern Kenya Rangeland Carbon Project (NKRCP), ensuring alignment with organizational goals and fostering impactful collaboration across all levels.
The position will manage the execution of projects, coordinate governance structures, ensure adherence to carbon standards and national regulations, facilitate community engagement initiatives, oversee benefit-sharing frameworks, cultivate stakeholder relationships, and achieve conservation and livelihood objectives across the participating conservancies.
