Requirements for Appointment:

To be considered for this position, applicants must possess a Bachelor’s degree in one of the listed fields: Physics, Mathematics, Legal Metrology, Information and Communication Technologies, or an equivalent qualification from a recognized Kenyan institution.

Duties and Responsibilities:

As an entry-level professional in this field, you will embark on a comprehensive training program to develop your skills and knowledge under the mentorship of experienced superiors. Your role will encompass various tasks such as:

The role involves inspecting and verifying the accuracy of mechanical and electronic weighing instruments through testing and certification processes.

The role involves gathering information about authorized machinery located in dealers’ facilities, processing it through designated checkpoints, and verifying its authenticity in a centralized office.

The position requires conducting quantitative analyses of pre-packed goods through sampling techniques.

I am responsible for ensuring that all testing equipment is properly prepared for inspections and investigations. This includes conducting thorough checks to ensure that all instruments are functioning correctly and accurately, as well as verifying the calibration of any necessary tools or devices. Additionally, I must maintain a clean and organized workspace in order to facilitate efficient and effective testing procedures.

During trade fairs and exhibitions, I am responsible for ensuring that all weighing and measuring equipment is properly calibrated and functioning correctly. This involves preparing the necessary tools and materials to perform these tasks efficiently while maintaining accuracy and precision in measurements. Additionally, I ensure that all safety protocols are followed during the use of this equipment by both myself and other team members involved in the event.

The role involves providing testimony in legal proceedings related to violations of the Weights and Measures Act (Chapter 513) and the Trade Descriptions Act (Chapter 505).
