The ideal candidate will bolster our dynamic science department by serving as the cornerstone of our hands-on laboratory experiments. This individual will oversee the procurement and allocation of resources while meticulously preparing and executing practical experiments spanning Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.

Responsibilities

Prepare, configure, and deconstruct the necessary equipment, chemical solutions, and biological materials essential for conducting daily practical lessons and examinations across all three scientific disciplines.

Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations to uphold stringent standards.

Inventory & Stock Management: Responsible for overseeing, procuring, and maintaining optimal stock levels of chemicals, reagents, live specimens, and physics equipment. Additionally, perform yearly audits of laboratory assets to ensure accuracy and compliance.

Responsibilities include performing routine cleaning, calibration, and maintenance of laboratory equipment to ensure optimal functionality. Additionally, the role requires coordinating and arranging specialist repairs for equipment as needed.

Ensure the secure and compliant disposal of chemical and biological hazardous waste in accordance with all applicable safety and regulatory standards.

Collaborate with science instructors to implement innovative experiments, offer specialized technical guidance, and, when needed, support students throughout hands-on laboratory activities.

Provide students with instruction in appropriate laboratory behavior and safety protocols as needed.

Required Skills/Characteristics

A qualification in Laboratory Technology, Applied Sciences, Education Science, or a comparable discipline is required.

Requires a minimum of three years of hands-on experience as a laboratory technician, ideally within an academic or research-focused setting.

Possesses exceptional organizational and time-management capabilities to efficiently manage simultaneous requests originating from various scientific disciplines.

Effective collaboration with faculty and students necessitates exceptional communication abilities.

Ability to function autonomously while upholding consistent productivity and meeting deadlines without direct supervision. Must possess strong self-motivation and discipline to manage workload efficiently in a remote or independent setting.
