The Research Officer will oversee participant recruitment and enrollment within designated healthcare facilities in Nairobi County. This role involves direct reporting to the Study Coordinator, ensuring alignment with study protocols and operational requirements.

Oversee and execute a comprehensive range of specialized duties and obligations, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and operational standards. Analyze and prioritize tasks to optimize efficiency, accuracy, and productivity within the designated role. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline workflows, resolve challenges, and uphold quality benchmarks. Maintain meticulous documentation, adhere to compliance requirements, and report progress through established channels. Demonstrate proficiency in relevant tools, systems, and methodologies to support daily operations and strategic initiatives. Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and professional development while contributing to team success and departmental objectives.

Recruiting and enrolling qualified participants for the study in strict adherence to established guidelines is a key responsibility. This involves identifying, screening, and enrolling individuals who meet the specified eligibility criteria for participation.

Gather data in accordance with established Standard Operating Procedures, ensuring compliance with all regulatory and organizational guidelines.

Data was entered and managed within the Redcap system on Android tablets.

Ensure the integrity, completeness, and secure management of collected data, adhering strictly to study-specific SOPs and established clinical best practices for storage and handling.

Ensure adherence to Google Cloud Platform (GCP) protocols and confidentiality requirements.

Compile comprehensive daily reports summarizing the screening and enrollment status of study participants, ensuring all relevant data is accurately documented and presented.

The study participants must be administered the correct interventions and procedures to ensure their proper execution.

Ensure the adherence of study participants to the established study protocols.

Demonstrate a thorough comprehension of the study Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), ensuring strict adherence to established protocols throughout all phases of research execution.

At all times during the study procedures, adherence to the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) must be ensured.

Conduct training sessions for facility staff members to educate them on the PM+ system.

Prepare and submit biweekly reports detailing recruitment activities and participant enrollment into the study to the study Coordinator.

Each month, accurately document modifications to study strategies by completing data capture forms.

Essential requirements include a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Engineering, or Information Technology, with a minimum of three years of experience in software development or a closely related discipline. Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, or C++ is mandatory, along with a solid understanding of algorithms, data structures, and software design principles. Candidates must demonstrate strong problem-solving abilities, excellent communication skills, and the capacity to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment. Additional qualifications may include experience with cloud platforms, version control systems like Git, and familiarity with agile methodologies.

A recognized institution must have awarded you a Diploma in Community Health, Social Work, or Counselling Psychology.

Fluency in both English and Kiswahili is essential, as these are the primary languages spoken among our research participants.

Requires a minimum of two years of hands-on research experience.

Must possess advanced proficiency in utilizing REDCAP for data collection purposes.

Proficiency in the study area, specifically Nairobi County, is essential for this role.

We seek candidates with strong proficiency in computer applications and systems.

Must possess a valid Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and Human Subjects Protection certification, with an expiration date extending at least 48 months beyond the publication date of this advertisement.

Must demonstrate strong communication abilities, including consistent interaction with the study coordinator through email and Zoom.
