The Senior Associate, Investments will spearhead the formulation and implementation of strategic asset allocation frameworks spanning diverse asset classes. This role demands a seasoned investment expert equipped with robust quantitative expertise, comprehensive market insight, and the acumen to convert intricate analytical findings into decisive investment strategies. Responsibilities include overseeing portfolio design, facilitating trade execution, and partnering with senior leadership to enhance client results.

Conduct comprehensive quantitative and qualitative assessments to design tailored strategic asset allocation frameworks. Assess prevailing market conditions, economic indicators, and risk variables to guide allocation decisions spanning equity, fixed income, and alternative asset classes.
Execute trades spanning diverse asset classes, such as equities across local, East African, African, and global markets, alongside fixed income instruments, private debt/equity, Rests, FX, and derivatives. Focus on achieving optimal trade execution while rigorously managing transaction costs and market impact.
Construct multi-asset portfolios and refine them through quantitative models and advanced optimization methodologies. Develop and execute rebalancing strategies to maintain portfolio alignment, oversee cash flow management, and ensure adherence to client mandates and specified risk parameters.
Investment Research – Perform comprehensive analyses of equity markets, alternative investments, and macroeconomic trends to develop well-founded investment proposals and support portfolio strategies while uncovering new avenues for growth.
Prepare and deliver persuasive presentations to internal and external investment committees, clearly articulating the investment rationale, risk factors, and portfolio performance outcomes with precision and clarity.
Risk Management involves overseeing portfolio risk exposures, performing scenario analysis, and deploying risk mitigation strategies. The role ensures portfolios adhere to established risk tolerances and comply with regulatory standards.

Qualifications
Education
A bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a closely related quantitative discipline is mandatory.
Preferred candidates will hold the CFA Charter or be actively pursuing the CFA designation.
Experience
With a minimum of five years of hands-on experience in investment research, trading, portfolio management, or comparable positions, candidates should demonstrate a proven track record in financial analysis and decision-making.
Experienced in conducting equity markets research, executing trades, and managing investments, with a specialized focus on local and East African markets; additional familiarity with Africa-wide and global markets is advantageous.
Proficiency in alternative asset classes such as private debt, private equity, real estate investment trusts (Rests), foreign exchange (FX), and derivatives is required.
Accomplished expertise in designing, structuring, and refining multi-asset investment portfolios to enhance performance and mitigate risk.
Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and present to both internal and external investment committees.
Seeking candidates with proficiency in technical skills such as programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, C++), software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, DevOps), database management (e.g., SQL, NoSQL), cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure), and system administration (e.g., Linux, Windows Server).
