JOB PURPOSE

Responsible for ensuring the secure, precise, and efficient preparation, dispensing, and inventory management of medications across all pharmacy units at Premier Hospital, including the First Floor Pharmacy, Chemotherapy Section, Main Pharmacy, and Main Store. This position requires meticulous attention to detail, strict adherence to safety protocols, strong collaborative skills, and full compliance with regulatory standards to uphold optimal patient care and medication safety.

Oversee the comprehensive management and coordination of daily operations to ensure seamless workflow efficiency. Execute strategic planning initiatives to align with organizational objectives, fostering sustainable growth and operational excellence. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement best practices, enhance productivity, and mitigate potential risks. Develop and enforce policies, procedures, and performance metrics to maintain high standards of quality and compliance. Monitor key performance indicators to assess progress, identify areas for improvement, and drive data-informed decision-making. Provide leadership and mentorship to team members, cultivating a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous development. Serve as a primary liaison between departments and senior management, facilitating transparent communication and alignment on strategic priorities. Ensure adherence to legal and regulatory requirements while optimizing resource allocation to maximize operational impact.

Dispenses medications and provides comprehensive assistance to patients, ensuring accurate fulfillment of prescriptions while addressing their inquiries and concerns with professionalism and care. Delivers tailored guidance on proper medication use, potential side effects, and adherence to treatment plans, fostering trust and clarity in patient interactions.

Accurately prepare and dispense medications in strict accordance with prescribed dosages and instructions.

Offer comprehensive patient counseling regarding appropriate dosage, potential side effects, and correct medication administration techniques.

Provide support to clinical teams by addressing drug-related inquiries and conducting prescription evaluations.

Oversee the provision of medications for both outpatient and inpatient services through the First Floor Pharmacy.

The responsibilities of this position include managing the chemotherapy section, ensuring adherence to protocols, and providing high-quality patient care throughout treatment. You will oversee the preparation and administration of chemotherapy drugs, maintain precise records, and collaborate with the healthcare team to optimize patient outcomes. Additionally, you will monitor patients for adverse reactions, educate them on treatment plans, and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to patient safety are essential for this role.

Assist with the meticulous preparation, accurate labeling, and precise dispensing of chemotherapy medications, adhering rigorously to established safety protocols to ensure patient well-being and regulatory compliance.

Ensure adherence to oncology-specific protocols and standards for protective equipment.

Work in conjunction with oncology personnel to confirm the accuracy of chemotherapy prescriptions and dosing.

Inventory and stock management involves overseeing the tracking, control, and optimization of goods and materials within a company’s supply chain. This process ensures accurate record-keeping of stock levels, timely replenishment to prevent shortages, and efficient organization to minimize excess inventory. Professionals in this role analyze data to forecast demand, identify trends, and implement strategies to enhance inventory efficiency while reducing carrying costs. Additionally, they coordinate with procurement teams to align purchasing decisions with operational needs, ensuring alignment with budgetary constraints and business objectives. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in inventory management software are essential for success in this position.

Oversee the pharmaceutical inventory for all dispensing pharmacies, ensuring accurate tracking and availability of medications.

Ensure stock is rotated promptly and expiry dates are strictly monitored while maintaining precise and up-to-date inventory records.

Pharmacy operations encompass the full scope of daily functions within the pharmacy environment, ensuring efficient workflow, compliance with regulatory standards, and optimal patient care delivery. This includes managing medication dispensing, inventory control, prescription processing, and adherence to established protocols. Additionally, coordination with healthcare professionals, maintaining accurate records, and upholding safety and hygiene standards are essential components of these operations.

Develop and process pharmaceutical orders for hospital wards and specialized units.

Ensure the secure storage and proper handling of controlled substances in compliance with all applicable regulations and guidelines.

Engage in ward rounds as needed to facilitate medication-related interventions.

Preserve precise records of prescriptions, inventory adjustments, and patient-related financial activities.

The ideal candidate must meet the following essential qualifications and criteria. A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is required, along with at least three years of professional experience in a comparable role. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and advanced analytical skills are mandatory. Excellent communication and organizational abilities are also necessary. Responsibilities include managing project timelines, coordinating team efforts, and ensuring adherence to company policies. The position demands meticulous attention to detail and the capacity to work independently under minimal supervision.

Holders of a Pharmacy Diploma will be considered for this position.

With a minimum of two years of professional experience, including at least one year in a high-volume hospital environment, you will bring a strong foundation to this role.

Demonstrates a strong command of the MS Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
