The Inventory and Demand Planner is responsible for producing precise demand forecasts and spearheading collaborative planning initiatives spanning East and Southern Africa, encompassing approximately seven distinct markets.
The Planner will enhance inventory optimization, ensure product availability, and improve supply chain efficiency by leveraging data-driven forecasting and collaborating across departments. Evaluate trade-offs to enhance working capital efficiency and recommend optimal strategies for the business.
Deliver comprehensive supply chain health check reports to leadership to guide adjustments in ordering frequency, safety stock parameters, and working capital needs.

A solid candidate would likely possess the following qualities:
A Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Statistics, Economics, or a closely related discipline is required.
A minimum requirement includes five or more years of progressively responsible experience in regional demand planning, supply chain planning, forecasting, or commercial planning.
Professional experience in overseeing operations across several African markets, with a preference for East and Southern Africa (ESA) regions.
Demonstrates exceptional proficiency in quantitative analysis and numerical problem-solving, coupled with advanced expertise in Microsoft Excel.
Proficiency in utilizing enterprise resource planning (ERP) and planning systems, including but not limited to SAP, Integrated Business Planning (IBP), Oracle, or comparable platforms, is essential.
Professional experience in the fast-moving consumer goods, consumer goods, renewable energy, retail, manufacturing, or distribution sectors is desirable.
Proficient understanding of intra-African trade patterns and logistical frameworks is required, with a focus on supply chain optimization tailored to the region’s unique challenges.
