Job Purpose

The Technical Sales Representative will be instrumental in expanding sales by collaborating with farmers, retailers, and distributors across the Western Kenya Region. This role presents a distinctive chance to merge technical proficiency with strategic sales skills to empower farmers and advance agricultural progress.

Oversee the execution of critical duties essential to the role, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and operational standards. Develop and implement strategic initiatives to enhance productivity, efficiency, and overall performance. Collaborate cross-functionally with teams to streamline processes, resolve challenges, and drive continuous improvement. Monitor key performance indicators to assess progress, identify trends, and recommend data-driven solutions. Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations to communicate insights, findings, and recommendations to stakeholders at all levels. Maintain adherence to compliance requirements, industry regulations, and internal policies while fostering a culture of accountability and excellence.

Drive sales of fertilizers by engaging with farmers, retailers, and dealers to showcase their benefits and suitability for agricultural needs.

Daily collaboration with customers is essential to uphold delivery schedules and maintain exceptional service standards.

Convene and oversee field demonstrations while acting as an intermediary between the organization and agricultural producers to disseminate key insights and performance outcomes.

Communicate product details, particularly regarding new launches, via brochures, on-site demonstrations, and interactive workshops.

Partner with major clients to contribute to the creation of yearly sales projections.

Proactively identify prospective clients and collaborate with the Sales Manager to enhance market penetration.

Conduct thorough assessments of market data, focusing on competitor offerings, pricing structures, and operational performance, to refine and strengthen sales strategies.

Process payments, generate receipts, and submit financial documentation to the finance team promptly.

Prepare and distribute account statements to customers for their review and approval, ensuring timely follow-up on collections.

Compile and present daily, monthly, and quarterly sales reports while ensuring discrepancies are identified and resolved in a timely manner.

Seeking a highly skilled professional with robust experience in project management and a proven track record of delivering complex initiatives on time and within budget. The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of five years of relevant experience, along with strong analytical, leadership, and communication skills. Proficiency in industry-standard software tools, such as Microsoft Project or Asana, is required, as is a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field. Responsibilities include overseeing project timelines, coordinating cross-functional teams, mitigating risks, and ensuring adherence to quality standards.

Agricultural Engineering requires a bachelor’s degree as the foundational qualification.

A minimum of three to five years of hands-on experience in agricultural sales or field operations is required.

Possesses extensive expertise in the realm of commodity fertilizers, encompassing their properties, applications, and market dynamics.

Demonstrated expertise in managing and cultivating demonstration initiatives is required.

Proficient in both English and Afrikaans, with strong computer literacy skills.
