Job Purpose

The Technical Sales Representative will be instrumental in expanding sales by collaborating with agricultural stakeholders, including farmers, retailers, and dealers across Western Kenya. This role presents an exceptional chance to merge specialized technical knowledge with strong sales capabilities to empower farmers and foster agricultural advancement.

Oversee and execute a comprehensive range of duties, including but not limited to managing daily operations, ensuring compliance with organizational policies, and fostering collaboration across teams. Develop and implement strategic initiatives to enhance productivity, efficiency, and overall performance. Monitor key performance indicators to evaluate progress and identify opportunities for improvement. Liaise with stakeholders to gather insights, address concerns, and align objectives with broader business goals. Maintain meticulous records, prepare detailed reports, and present findings to senior leadership to support data-driven decision-making. Uphold a commitment to excellence by adhering to best practices, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.

Recommend and advocate fertilizers to agricultural professionals, including farmers, retailers, and distributors.

Daily interactions with clients are essential to uphold delivery schedules and maintain exceptional standards of service quality.

Deliver field demonstrations while maintaining ongoing oversight, acting as a key intermediary between the company and agricultural producers to exchange valuable insights and performance outcomes.

Educate customers about product offerings, with a particular focus on newly launched items, utilizing brochures, on-site demonstrations, and interactive workshops as key communication channels.

Work in partnership with major clients to help create yearly sales projections.

Prospect new clients and collaborate with the Sales Manager to enhance market penetration.

Examine competitor product performance, pricing structures, and operational efficiencies to refine sales approaches and drive competitive advantage.

Process payments, generate receipts, and promptly submit documentation to the finance team to ensure compliance and accuracy.

Collect and distribute account statements to customers for their review and approval, ensuring timely follow-up on outstanding collections.

Prepare and submit daily, monthly, and quarterly sales reports with careful attention to detail, ensuring any discrepancies are identified and resolved in a timely manner.

Seeking a qualified candidate with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, alongside at least three years of experience in software development. Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, or C++ is essential, along with strong problem-solving and analytical skills. The ideal applicant should demonstrate experience with agile development methodologies, version control systems, and collaborative software projects. Exceptional communication abilities and the capacity to work effectively in a team-oriented environment are also required.

Agricultural Engineering degree at the bachelor’s level is required.

Seeking candidates with a minimum of three to five years of practical experience in agricultural sales or field operations.

Proficient in various types of commodity fertilizers, including but not limited to nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium-based formulations, as well as their application methods and benefits in agricultural settings.

Demonstrated expertise in managing and enhancing demonstration initiatives is required.

Proficient in both English and Afrikaans, coupled with strong computer skills.
