Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site position for a Business Development Executive located in Nairobi County, Kenya. The role involves identifying and evaluating new business opportunities, while cultivating a robust sales pipeline and executing both outbound and inbound lead generation initiatives across key segments, including merchants, banks, and payment service providers (PSPs). Responsibilities include delivering presentations on Lipid’s solutions to potential clients, conducting product demonstrations, preparing tailored proposals, and negotiating commercial terms in alignment with company policies. Additionally, the individual will oversee the expansion and retention of existing accounts, ensuring high levels of client satisfaction, contract renewals, and identifying opportunities for upselling and cross-selling. Daily tasks also include partnering with product and marketing teams to refine value propositions, monitoring progress against sales targets, maintaining precise CRM data, and providing strategic market insights on customer demands, competitive landscapes, and industry developments.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is required. A minimum of three years of professional experience in software development is necessary. Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, or C++ is essential. Familiarity with database management systems and software development methodologies is also required. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a team environment are crucial. Strong communication skills for interacting with stakeholders and conveying technical information are necessary. Knowledge of cloud computing platforms like AWS or Azure is a plus.

Proven expertise in New Business Development and Lead Generation, coupled with the capacity to cultivate and oversee a robust pipeline.

Proficiency in core business concepts, such as sales methodologies, strategic commercial negotiations, and fundamental financial literacy, is required.

Exceptional written and verbal communication skills are essential, enabling you to articulate complex technical and financial concepts clearly to a wide range of stakeholders.

Seasoned in Account Management, with a focus on cultivating strong client relationships, maintaining high retention rates, and driving expansion opportunities for existing accounts.

Experience in fintech, payments, banking, or SaaS sales is highly preferred.

Proficient in utilizing CRM systems, generating sales reports, and leveraging data insights to inform strategic decisions.

Capable of performing on-site duties within Nairobi County, Kenya, and engaging with clients face-to-face when necessary.

A bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, or a related discipline, or an equivalent level of practical expertise, is required.

Results-driven professional with a strong capacity for independent initiative and seamless team collaboration, adept at thriving in both autonomous and group settings.
