In Financial Intermediaries, you will oversee Environmental and Social (E&S) aspects of IFC investments across every stage of the project cycle, from initial review and appraisal to public disclosure, board review and approval, commitment and disbursement, and ongoing project supervision.
Prepare and finalize comprehensive project-related internal and external documentation to facilitate IFC investments.
Lead or drive the identification and formulation of environmental and social (E&S) risk mitigation strategies and value-adding solutions, assisting clients in effectively managing their E&S risks.
Deliver comprehensive direction to IFC investment teams regarding environmental and social (E&S) risk management to facilitate seamless investment processing and informed decision-making throughout each stage of the investment cycle.
Assist financial institution (FI) clients in crafting and deploying their Environmental and Social Management Systems (ESSS) while enhancing their operational capabilities.
When overseeing Environmental & Social (E&S) assessments, offer strategic direction and assistance to team members, guaranteeing optimal utilization of personnel, consultants, and resources to facilitate the punctual fulfillment of deliverables.
Collaborate closely with the investment team to develop and implement environmental and social (E&S) provisions within legal agreements.
Vigilantly oversee portfolio clients to ensure adherence to the established environmental and social (E&S) conditions of investments.
Professionally document and convey discrepancies between client performance and the IFC’s Environmental and Social (E&S) standards to both the client and IFC management.
Provide guidance to industry teams and clients in addressing inquiries from the Compliance Advisor Ombudsman (CAN) and the Independent Evaluation Group (IEG).
As circumstances require, collaborate with cross-regional and global teams to develop policy interpretation notes on environmental and social (E&S) topics while enhancing the corporate knowledge base by identifying, analyzing, and sharing key insights and lessons learned from project experiences.
Craft concise management briefs covering pertinent environmental and social (E&S) issues.
Participate in regional portfolio reviews and prepare periodic reports to ensure comprehensive analysis and documentation of performance metrics.
