Wetlands International Eastern Africa is in search of a seasoned Regional Finance & Compliance Officer to spearhead strategic financial leadership, ensure robust compliance, manage risks effectively, uphold donor accountability, and maintain rigorous financial oversight across its regional operations.
This position will be responsible for managing financial planning and reporting, budgeting, grants administration, compliance oversight, audits, and internal controls, as well as enhancing financial systems to ensure robust support for program delivery throughout Eastern Africa.
The position mandates a minimum of five years of relevant professional experience, with a strong preference for candidates holding a Bachelor’s degree in a related field. Applicants must demonstrate proficiency in [specific software/tools, if applicable], exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential, as is the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines. Familiarity with industry standards and compliance regulations is also required.
A Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or an equivalent discipline is required.
Candidates must possess either a CPA(K), ARCA, or an equivalent recognized professional qualification.
A minimum of 8 to 10 years of hands-on experience is required, with at least 2 of those years in a senior regional or multicountry finance leadership capacity.
Demonstrated expertise in overseeing projects funded by donors within the context of an international non-governmental organization.
