City Eye Hospital is a mission-driven social enterprise dedicated to delivering high-quality, affordable eye care services to communities across East Africa. Committed to accessibility in both geographic reach and cost, the hospital strives to be the region’s premier provider of eye care solutions. Since its establishment in June 2015, City Eye Hospital has made significant progress, including expanding its outpatient services, performing over 16,500 cataract surgeries (with 30% provided complimentary), and establishing a strong outreach initiative that delivers free eye screenings and essential eye care products—such as medications and prescription glasses—at subsidized rates. To date, the hospital has served over 175,000 patients, with 50% receiving free screenings at its outreach camps.
