Job Summary
The Department of Amato-Oncology is recruiting a Tumor Board Coordinator to facilitate streamlined administrative and clinical workflows by liaising with multidisciplinary teams, ensuring seamless cancer care coordination throughout the Aga Khan University Cancer Centre. This position encompasses responsibilities such as supporting tumor board operations, oncology governance, accreditation compliance, quality enhancement initiatives, and the management of oncology data systems.
Provides leadership and direction to the team, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and fostering a collaborative work environment. Oversees project execution, monitoring progress, and addressing any challenges that arise to maintain efficiency. Develops and implements strategies to enhance team performance and productivity, while also identifying opportunities for process improvements. Collaborates with cross-functional departments to streamline communication and ensure seamless project delivery. Maintains accountability for project timelines, budgets, and deliverables, ensuring adherence to company standards and regulatory requirements. Serves as a mentor and coach to team members, supporting their professional growth and development through regular feedback and guidance.
Demonstrate exceptional initiative in planning and organizing to ensure the department operates with maximum efficiency and effectiveness, delivering high-caliber executive administrative management.
Oversee and coordinate all Amato-Oncology and specialty Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) meetings, ensuring comprehensive leadership and administrative oversight.
Compile and distribute patient lists, meeting agendas, and essential clinical documentation in advance of board reviews.
Maintain accurate documentation of Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) discussions and promptly relay treatment decisions to healthcare providers.
Coordinating and overseeing the timely execution of team care decisions and patient treatment plans is essential. This role involves monitoring the implementation of board recommendations, facilitating referrals, and addressing care delays to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Responsible for managing the logistical operations of specialty clinics focusing on multidisciplinary breast and prostate care.
Duties include facilitating governance procedures related to Clinical Care Program Certification (CCPC) and CIA evaluations.
Ensure the currency and integrity of oncology governance documents, policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and evidence repositories are upheld.
Gather, verify, and present oncology quality indicators to maintain ongoing preparedness for accreditation.
Provide support in gathering and maintaining data for oncology clinical databases and cancer registries.
Oversee clinical audits, facilitate research initiatives, and develop service performance dashboards.
Requirements
A bachelor’s degree in health sciences, nursing, health records and information management, public health, health systems management, business administration, or a closely related discipline is required.
Proficiency in quality improvement methodologies, healthcare data management, research techniques, or healthcare accreditation processes would offer a distinct benefit.
A minimum of one year of professional experience in healthcare administration, oncology services, quality improvement, clinical data management, accreditation support, research coordination, or a comparable field is required.
Proven expertise in medical terminology and mastery of healthcare IT systems, databases, and cancer registries is required.
Demonstrates exceptional skill in utilizing Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and various reporting tools, with a strong emphasis on advanced proficiency in each application.
Proficiency in Redcap, Edtech, or comparable clinical information systems would be considered beneficial.
Their proficiency in both written and verbal communication stands out, demonstrating strong interpersonal skills alongside an ability to convey ideas clearly and effectively.
