Provide accurate prescriptions and dispense eyeglasses, contact lenses, and other vision correction solutions as needed.
Identify initial indications of ocular conditions and promptly escalate intricate cases to ophthalmologists or dedicated healthcare centers for further evaluation.
Conduct essential diagnostic evaluations, including iodometry and visual field assessments.
Educate patients regarding eye care practices, preventive strategies, and the management of chronic ocular conditions.
Responsibilities include ensuring precise and prompt documentation of patient records within electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
Maintain strict compliance with infection prevention and control protocols within the eye clinic environment.

We are seeking a highly skilled professional with a strong academic background and proven experience in the relevant field. The ideal candidate must hold an advanced degree in a related discipline, complemented by at least five years of hands-on experience in a similar role. Proficiency in industry-standard software, exceptional analytical abilities, and outstanding communication skills are essential requirements. Additionally, the candidate should demonstrate a track record of leadership, problem-solving, and adaptability in dynamic environments. Holds a Diploma or Degree in Optometry earned from an accredited educational institution.
A current, active license to practice optometry issued by the Optometrists Association of Kenya or another authorized regulatory body is required.
A minimum of two years of professional experience in a hospital or an accredited eye care facility is required.
Proficient in refractive techniques and ocular disease screening methodologies.
Skilled in utilizing electronic medical record systems and managing optical dispensing procedures.
Demonstrates exceptional ability to effectively communicate with patients and provide compassionate counseling.
Maintaining a high standard of professionalism, demonstrating meticulous attention to detail, and adhering to ethical principles are essential.
