Our client, a rapidly expanding interior design firm celebrated for its innovative and meticulously crafted spaces, is currently seeking a skilled Accountant to enhance their financial and operational infrastructure.

The ideal candidate will be instrumental in maintaining seamless daily operations by overseeing financial documentation, project billing, payroll administration, regulatory compliance, and office coordination—all while contributing to a dynamic and fast-paced creative setting.

Oversee a comprehensive range of critical duties encompassing strategic planning, operational execution, and performance evaluation to ensure alignment with organizational objectives. Develop and implement policies, procedures, and best practices to enhance efficiency, productivity, and compliance across all functional areas. Lead cross-functional teams by fostering collaboration, delegating responsibilities, and promoting a culture of accountability and continuous improvement. Monitor key performance indicators, analyze data trends, and provide actionable insights to senior leadership to support informed decision-making. Serve as a primary liaison between departments, stakeholders, and external partners to facilitate seamless communication and drive cohesive workflows. Ensure adherence to industry regulations, quality standards, and ethical guidelines while mitigating risks and resolving operational challenges proactively. Cultivate talent through mentorship, professional development initiatives, and performance management strategies to build a high-performing workforce.

Ensure precise maintenance of accounting records and financial documentation through the utilization of Xero Accounting Software.

Responsibilities include compiling monthly financial reports, conducting bank reconciliations, and preparing cash flow summaries.

Oversee the entire lifecycle of project-related financial transactions, including the issuance of client invoices, processing of supplier payments, management of purchase orders, and meticulous tracking of expenses.

Responsible for accurately processing payroll and ensuring all statutory remittances, such as PAYE, NAIF, NSF, VAT, and withholding tax, are completed promptly and in compliance with regulations.

Oversee the organization and optimization of office administration, document management, and operational workflows to ensure efficiency and seamless functionality.

Organize and manage all contract documentation, client files, permits, warranties, and corporate records systematically.

Facilitate the seamless integration of new employees into the organization while ensuring all HR records and documentation remain meticulously accurate and up-to-date.

Maintain up-to-date business permits, insurance policies, and all statutory compliance requirements by ensuring their timely renewal.

Collaborate with external auditors and assist in budgeting and financial planning initiatives.

Deliver comprehensive administrative assistance to the Director while liaising with suppliers, contractors, consultants, and clients.

Seeking a candidate with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline, complemented by a minimum of five years’ experience in financial management or a closely related field. Strong proficiency in financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting is required, along with expertise in GAAP and IFRS standards. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential for collaborating with cross-functional teams and presenting complex financial information to stakeholders. The ideal applicant will also demonstrate leadership qualities, strategic thinking, and a commitment to continuous professional development.

A bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or an equivalent discipline is required.

A qualification of CPA Part II (Intermediate Level) or higher is highly desirable.

A minimum of two years of professional experience in finance, administration, or a related field is required.

Proficiency in accounting software is essential. Experience with Xero is particularly beneficial.

Proficient in Kenyan tax regulations and statutory compliance obligations, ensuring full adherence to evolving legal frameworks.

Proficiency in interior design, architecture, construction, hospitality, or creative services industries would be considered advantageous.

Skilled in utilizing the Microsoft Office Suite with a strong emphasis on Excel, Word, and Outlook.

Demonstrates exceptional proficiency in organizational strategies, interpersonal communication, and efficient time management.

Maintains a high degree of integrity, professionalism, and meticulous attention to detail.

Proficient in handling diverse responsibilities concurrently while maintaining productivity in a dynamic and time-sensitive setting.
