Job Purpose
The Medical Officer will deliver exceptional clinical care to patients, collaborate in multidisciplinary patient management, facilitate teaching and training initiatives, and help advance the hospital’s commitment to sustainable, outstanding, and holistic healthcare services.
Oversee and execute a comprehensive range of duties essential to the role, including strategic planning, operational management, and team leadership. Develop and implement policies, procedures, and best practices to enhance efficiency, productivity, and compliance with organizational standards. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align initiatives with business objectives and drive sustainable growth. Monitor performance metrics, analyze data trends, and recommend improvements to optimize outcomes. Evaluate, identify, and deliver therapeutic interventions for patients across diverse healthcare environments, including outpatient clinics, inpatient units, emergency departments, and specialized care facilities.
Formulate and execute tailored treatment strategies that align with recognized clinical protocols and industry-leading standards, ensuring adherence to evidence-based methodologies.
Administer medical procedures commensurate with professional practice standards and individual competency levels.
Engage actively in ward rounds, conduct clinical audits, participate in mortality and morbidity reviews, and contribute to quality improvement initiatives. This individual will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to enhance patient care standards and operational efficiency through systematic evaluation and evidence-based interventions.
Ensure patient records and clinical documentation are maintained with precision and submitted in a timely manner.
Collaborate seamlessly with consultants, nurses, allied health professionals, and other healthcare team members to optimize patient management.
Deliver comprehensive health education and counseling services to patients alongside their families to promote informed decision-making and optimal health outcomes.
Engage in assigned emergency call responsibilities, outreach efforts, and community health projects as directed.
Provide guidance and mentorship to medical students, interns, and other healthcare trainees to facilitate their professional development.
Play a pivotal role in advancing research initiatives, fostering innovation, and upholding evidence-based clinical practices.
Maintain compliance with all professional, ethical, legal, and regulatory standards applicable to medical practice.

A recognized institution must confer a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MB ChB) degree or an equivalent qualification.
Licensed and registered with the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council (KMPDC).
A current, active professional license in good standing is required.
Internship training must be successfully completed to fulfill this role’s prerequisites.
A minimum of one year of post-internship clinical practice experience is highly desirable.
Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) would be advantageous.
