The Assistant Valves Technician collaborates with the Valves Technician throughout the complete valve rehabilitation process in the workshop. Responsibilities include receiving and inspecting valves, performing disassembly, cleaning, repair, and testing, as well as maintaining thorough documentation while ensuring traceability and adherence to quality benchmarks. Additionally, the Assistant enhances operational efficiency by supporting technical tasks, maintaining precise records, and upholding all safety and procedural compliance.
Oversee and execute a comprehensive range of critical duties, including strategic planning, operational management, and stakeholder engagement to ensure organizational objectives are met. Develop and implement policies, procedures, and best practices to enhance efficiency, compliance, and performance across departments. Lead cross-functional teams to drive project execution, foster collaboration, and achieve measurable results. They conduct detailed assessments to identify wear, corrosion, or operational inefficiencies, then recommend and implement corrective measures such as refurbishment, reconditioning, or replacement of components. These professionals must possess strong mechanical aptitude, proficiency in reading technical schematics, and hands-on experience with valve disassembly, inspection, and reassembly. Familiarity with industry standards, safety protocols, and specialized tools is required, along with the ability to troubleshoot issues promptly and communicate findings clearly to clients or team members.
Assist with the disassembly, cleaning, inspection, and reassembly of various valve types, such as gate, globe, ball, butterfly, and check valves. Provide support for basic repairs, including lapping and the replacement of packing, under the guidance of a supervisor.
The position involves providing comprehensive testing assistance to ensure product quality and functionality. Responsibilities include executing test cases, documenting defects, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to resolve issues efficiently. Consistently uphold all Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) protocols, ensure strict adherence to Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements, and maintain high standards of housekeeping. Additionally, support the upkeep and functionality of tools and workshop equipment.
Seeking a candidate with a strong educational background in a relevant field and proven professional experience. Applicant must demonstrate proficiency in key technical skills and methodologies essential to the role. Familiarity with industry standards and compliance regulations is required. A diploma or certificate in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline is required.
