Job Purpose

The Medical Officer will deliver exceptional clinical care to patients, engage in collaborative multidisciplinary patient management, facilitate teaching and training initiatives, and advance the hospital’s commitment to sustainable, outstanding, and comprehensive healthcare services.

Oversee and execute a comprehensive range of duties encompassing strategic planning, operational management, and team leadership to ensure organizational objectives are met efficiently. Develop and implement policies, procedures, and best practices to enhance productivity, quality, and compliance with industry standards. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for improvement and drive innovation across departments. Serve as a primary liaison between senior management and staff, facilitating clear communication and alignment of goals. Monitor performance metrics, analyze data trends, and provide actionable insights to senior leadership to support informed decision-making. Foster a culture of accountability, continuous learning, and professional development among team members. Ensure adherence to legal and regulatory requirements while maintaining high ethical standards in all operations.

Evaluate, identify, and provide care for patients across outpatient, inpatient, emergency, and specialized care environments, addressing their medical needs through diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing management.

Craft and execute suitable treatment plans that align with established clinical guidelines and evidence-based best practices.

Perform medical procedures within the scope of practice and competence.

Participate in ward rounds, clinical audits, mortality and morbidity reviews, and quality improvement initiatives.

Ensure patient records and clinical documentation are maintained with precision and promptly updated.

Effectively collaborate with consultants, nurses, allied health professionals, and other healthcare workers to ensure comprehensive patient management.

You will deliver health education and counseling services to patients and their families, ensuring they receive clear, actionable guidance tailored to their needs.

Engage in emergency call response duties, assigned outreach programs, and community health initiatives to contribute effectively to organizational objectives.

Provide guidance and assistance in the education and professional development of medical students, interns, and other healthcare trainees.

Support the advancement of research initiatives, foster innovative solutions, and uphold evidence-based clinical practices.

Maintain rigorous compliance with professional, ethical, legal, and regulatory standards that govern medical practice.

Candidate must possess a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum of three years of professional experience in a related role is required, with a proven track record in project management or leadership. Strong analytical skills and proficiency in industry-specific software are essential. Excellent communication and organizational abilities are also necessary to thrive in this position.

A recognized institution must award a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MB ChB) degree or its equivalent.

Licensed and registered by the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council (KMPDC).

Holding an active and current professional license is required.

Completing the internship training program is a prerequisite.

A minimum of one year of post-internship clinical practice experience is preferred.

Professional certification in both Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is highly beneficial.
