Our client, a prominent telecommunications firm, is seeking a qualified Trade Development Representative to join their team.
Job purpose
To prioritize channel visits aimed at enhancing retailer awareness and improving SIMs and Float performance, while ensuring optimal visibility and merchandising standards at the point of purchase for SOS and Trash agents.
Oversee a comprehensive range of duties encompassing the planning, execution, and monitoring of projects to ensure timely and high-quality delivery. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to align objectives, resolve challenges, and promote a culture of accountability and continuous improvement. Develop and implement strategic initiatives that enhance operational efficiency, foster innovation, and drive sustainable growth within the organization. Serve as a primary point of contact for stakeholders, providing clear communication and fostering strong relationships to facilitate seamless project progression and organizational success. Maintain meticulous documentation, track key performance indicators, and present regular reports to leadership to support data-driven decision-making. Ensure adherence to industry regulations, company policies, and best practices while upholding the highest standards of professionalism and integrity.
Effectively oversee the identification and recruitment of Agents, focusing on mobile money outlets and high-traffic retail stores.
Regularly conduct visits to SOS and Agents in adherence to established route plans (beat plans) to ensure compliance with call rate requirements.
Provide SOS and Trash Agents with all necessary transaction tools, ensuring they are fully equipped at both SSO and agent outlets, while also delivering comprehensive training on the relevant processes.
Train agents on anti-money laundering (AML) protocols and ensure they understand the Know Your Customer (KYC) process in compliance with SIM REG requirements. Develop and deliver structured training programs focused on AML regulations and the specific steps involved in KYC verification. Conduct periodic testing to evaluate agents’ comprehension and application of these procedures, reinforcing adherence to regulatory standards.
Monitor and maintain adequate stock levels to ensure seamless operations, while consistently enforcing the 1.5x stock rule for agents. Additionally, verify that Sales Support Officers (SOS) have sufficient stock of SIM cards for new registrations and activations.
We are tasked with establishing and upholding merchandising standards by ensuring the availability of merchandising materials at SOS and Agent outlets.
Requires a bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant field, along with a minimum of five years of professional experience in a related discipline. Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills are essential, as is proficiency in industry-specific software and tools. Familiarity with applicable regulations, standards, and best practices is also necessary. Additionally, candidates should demonstrate the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
A degree in Business, Marketing, or a closely related field, whether at the diploma or bachelor’s level, is required for this position.
Experience
With a minimum of one year’s experience in sales and distribution within the FMCG or telecommunications sectors, you will bring a strong foundation to this role.
