Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is required. A minimum of three years of hands-on experience in software development is essential. Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or C++ is mandatory. Strong problem-solving abilities and excellent communication skills are also necessary.
The ideal candidate for the Interpreter position must demonstrate proficiency in both source and target languages, ensuring accurate and culturally appropriate communication. Strong listening, comprehension, and oral expression skills are essential, along with the ability to interpret complex information rapidly and clearly. The role requires familiarity with specialized terminology across various fields, such as legal, medical, or technical sectors, depending on the assignment. Excellent memory retention, attention to detail, and adaptability to different environments are also necessary. Additionally, the Interpreter should maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards while conveying messages with precision and neutrality.
A strong command of Kenyan Sign Language (KSL) is required.
Interpreters should possess a proven track record in delivering interpretation services across diverse settings, including conferences, workshops, training sessions, and public events.
Exceptional ability to foster positive relationships and convey information clearly and effectively.
Proven capability to collaborate productively with a wide range of young individuals and key stakeholders from various backgrounds.
