ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY AND RESPONSIBILITIES

This role offers the chance to collaborate closely with entrepreneur clients in Komodo communities. Serving within the Business Growth Services team, you will play a pivotal role in empowering Kenyan micro and small entrepreneurs, fostering sustainable community development.

The role encompasses a comprehensive range of responsibilities, including:

We are seeking a professional to lead client mobilization efforts, which constitute 10% of the role’s responsibilities. This individual will be responsible for engaging and activating clients to ensure smooth onboarding and sustained participation in programs or services. Key duties include identifying client needs, addressing barriers to engagement, and fostering strong relationships to enhance retention and satisfaction. The ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal skills, the ability to analyze client data, and experience developing tailored strategies to motivate participation. A proactive approach and a commitment to client success are essential for driving impactful outcomes in this capacity.

Evaluate and recruit entrepreneurs who meet the enrollment criteria for the program.

Facilitate the dissemination of program information to community participants and verify that the messages have been successfully received.

As an Ambassador for Inkomoko, you will engage with and represent the organization within existing community structures, fostering meaningful outreach and collaboration.

Provide guidance on participant selection criteria to ensure alignment with the organizational culture and existing community business frameworks.

To ensure transparency and timely resolution, promptly report any obstacles encountered by participants throughout the program execution to Inkomoko leadership. Maintain clear and concise communication channels to facilitate swift decision-making and support.

The role requires dedicating 40% of your time to training initiatives, ensuring comprehensive skill development and continuous learning for yourself and your team. This includes participating in professional development programs, workshops, and mentorship opportunities to enhance both technical and soft skills. You will be responsible for staying updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to maintain high performance standards. Additionally, you may be tasked with designing or delivering training sessions to share knowledge and foster a culture of growth within the organization. Strong communication skills and a commitment to lifelong learning are essential for success in this aspect of the position.

Ensure that every entrepreneur enrolled in the program receives timely communication and actively participates in all scheduled training sessions.

Responsibilities include coordinating all training logistics, such as printing training materials, preparing the training venue, tracking attendance, and ensuring the session begins punctually.

Deliver training sessions utilizing Inkomoko’s standardized training materials in Somali, Kiswahili, and English.

Evaluate training modules and recommend essential modifications to the Senior Trainer to ensure optimal effectiveness and alignment with organizational goals.

Successfully complete all assigned training programs within the specified timeframe and budgetary constraints.

Business consulting and client relationship management account for 40% of the role.

The onboarding procedure for entrepreneurs encompasses baseline monitoring and evaluation (M&E) as well as data entry into our digital platform.

Monthly site evaluations are performed to identify and evaluate business requirements and growth opportunities.

Prepare cash flow statements and profitability analyses in collaboration with clients.

Offer expert, results-oriented counsel to assist clients in achieving their goals—or realigning those goals for enhanced sustainability and profitability.

Through regular on-site engagements, we deliver timely advisory services to address evolving business needs and foster sustainable growth.

Our role involves facilitating client connections to additional Komodo services, specifically tailored training programs and financial access solutions, ensuring comprehensive support for their business growth.

Maintain current and precise records of client business information.

Support investment team members in processing investment applications, conducting thorough due diligence, and managing clients’ credit payments efficiently and accurately.

Community Activities Coordination and Administration encompasses approximately 10% of the responsibilities associated with this position. This role involves overseeing the planning, execution, and evaluation of community events, programs, and initiatives to foster engagement and collaboration among participants. Administrative duties include managing schedules, coordinating logistics, and ensuring seamless operations through meticulous attention to detail and adherence to established policies and procedures. Additionally, the position requires effective communication with stakeholders, volunteers, and team members to align objectives and maintain high levels of participant satisfaction.

Foster collaborative partnerships and maintain strong connections with all stakeholders and local authorities in Lower.

Prepare and submit weekly and monthly reports punctually.

Represent Inkomoko’s interests and initiatives in the Lower region with professionalism and dedication. Serve as the primary liaison between Komodo and stakeholders, communities, and partners in the area. Facilitate engagements, foster relationships, and ensure alignment with Inkomoko’s mission and objectives. Actively promote programs, services, and opportunities provided by Inkomoko to drive impact and sustainable development in Lower.

Collaborate effectively with the Senior Business Development Advisor and the Business Development Manager in planning and executing community initiatives.

Support Komodo personnel in coordinating and executing all communications conducted within the country.

Ensure all community activities are completed promptly and efficiently.

Support the Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) team by conducting surveys and gathering data in Lower.

Offer comprehensive administrative assistance as required to ensure efficient office operations and support for various tasks.

Execute all additional tasks and responsibilities as directed by management.

Candidates must meet the following qualifications: a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, at least three years of professional experience, proficiency in industry-standard software tools, and strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Exceptional communication and teamwork skills are essential, along with the capacity to manage multiple projects efficiently. Familiarity with relevant regulations and compliance standards is required, and prior leadership experience is highly desirable. Additionally, the ability to adapt to evolving industry trends and a commitment to continuous learning are fundamental expectations for this role.
