Job purpose

To conduct channel visits with the objective of enhancing retailer awareness and improving SIM and Float turnaround, while ensuring optimal visibility and merchandising standards at the point of purchase for SOS and Trash agents.

Oversee critical operational duties, including the development and implementation of strategic initiatives to enhance productivity and efficiency within the organization. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and execute projects that align with company objectives, ensuring seamless integration of processes and workflows. Monitor performance metrics to identify areas for improvement, providing data-driven recommendations to optimize outcomes. Lead and mentor team members, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous growth. Ensure compliance with industry regulations and internal policies while maintaining high standards of quality and professionalism.

SSO & Agent Recruitment & Mapping – In this role, you will be responsible for identifying and recruiting Agents strategically, with a focus on mobile money outlets and high-traffic retail stores.

Consistently maintain call rates by conducting regular visits to SOS and Agents in accordance with established route and beat plans.

Provide essential business tools for seamless transactions at SSO and agent outlets, ensuring all necessary resources are available for operational efficiency. Additionally, conduct comprehensive training sessions for SOS and Trash Agents to familiarize them with the relevant processes and procedures.

Train agents to proficiently handle Anti-Money Laundering (AML) protocols and educate them on Structured Suspicious Operations (SOS) with a focus on Know Your Customer (KYC) procedures, specifically in alignment with SIM REG compliance requirements.

Monitor and maintain float and stock levels while verifying that agents comply with the 1.5x stock requirement. Ensure Stock Sales Officers (SOS) have sufficient stock SIMs available for new registrations and activation processes.

Develop and uphold merchandising standards by ensuring the availability of merchandising materials at SOS and Agent outlets.

The ideal candidate must possess a combination of academic credentials and relevant professional experience to excel in this role. A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a related field is required, with a preference for advanced degrees or specialized certifications where applicable. Additionally, candidates should demonstrate hands-on experience in the industry, showcasing expertise through prior roles or projects. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills are essential, along with the ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic environment. Familiarity with industry-specific tools, methodologies, and best practices will be highly advantageous.

A degree in Business, Marketing, or a comparable discipline—either a diploma or a bachelor’s level qualification—is required for this role.

Demonstrated success in van sales or an equivalent sales position required.

Holders of a valid driver’s license are required to fulfill this position.

Experience

Professional candidates will possess a minimum of one year of hands-on experience in sales and distribution, ideally within the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) or telecommunications sectors.
