Oxford University Press East Africa is seeking to appoint an Assistant Education Business Advisor on an eight-month fixed-term basis in Nairobi. The position will concentrate on driving sales growth, cultivating strong school partnerships, managing distributor networks, and providing support for collections and CRM reporting. Applicants must hold at least a bachelor’s degree or a higher diploma in Education, Sales, or Marketing, alongside three to five years of relevant experience in educational sales. Proficiency in both English and Kiswahili is essential, along with the capacity to operate autonomously while engaging with diverse stakeholders.

Our primary responsibilities involve overseeing daily operations, ensuring adherence to company policies, and maintaining high standards of productivity and efficiency. Additionally, we are tasked with collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to drive project initiatives, monitor performance metrics, and implement process improvements where necessary. The role demands strong leadership skills, a keen eye for detail, and the capacity to manage multiple priorities while meeting strict deadlines. Proficiency in relevant software tools and a deep understanding of industry best practices are essential requirements for success in this position.

Achieve and surpass sales targets by implementing a well-defined territory plan.

Each day, conduct visits to schools while maintaining precise documentation of all activities conducted.

Source and develop new business opportunities, fostering and converting them into profitable ventures through strategic planning and execution.

Oversee the operations of bookshops and distributors to enhance product accessibility and prominence.

Provide support for collections activities, track overdue balances, and ensure the timely submission of sales reports.

Ideal profile

Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities, a talent for nurturing relationships, adept negotiation techniques, and meticulous organizational skills are essential.

Proficient in digital technologies, technical tools, data management, and analytical methodologies is essential.
