To maintain the dependable performance, upkeep, and restoration of diesel generator sets (genets), ensuring a continuous power supply for operational facilities, equipment, and essential systems.

Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on genets in accordance with manufacturer specifications.

Conduct thorough inspections of oil levels, filters, fuel systems, and electrical connections to ensure optimal equipment performance and safety.

Accurately document all maintenance activities and service entries in the designated logs and records.

Performs corrective maintenance tasks to restore equipment or systems to optimal operating condition following malfunctions or failures. Diagnoses issues through systematic inspection and testing procedures. Implements necessary repairs or component replacements to ensure functionality. Maintains detailed records of maintenance activities, including interventions performed and outcomes achieved. Collaborates with other teams to address recurring issues and prevent future failures. Adheres to safety protocols and industry regulations throughout all maintenance operations.

Diagnose malfunctions and perform corrective maintenance on mechanical, electrical, and control systems to ensure optimal functionality and reliability.

Address breakdowns immediately to reduce operational interruptions and maintain productivity.

The role involves overseeing the installation and commissioning phases of systems or equipment, ensuring adherence to technical specifications and safety protocols. Ensures adherence to safety regulations and compliance standards across all operations while mitigating risks and promoting a secure work environment. Maintains up-to-date knowledge of industry-specific laws, guidelines, and best practices to ensure the organization meets or exceeds legal and regulatory requirements. Develops, implements, and monitors safety policies, procedures, and training programs to foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement. Conducts regular inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and enforce corrective actions. Collaborates with leadership and cross-functional teams to integrate safety and compliance initiatives into strategic planning and daily operations.

Maintain compliance with established safety protocols and environmental standards at all times.

Properly manage the storage, handling, and disposal of fuels and lubricants in accordance with regulatory and safety standards.

Ensure adherence to all corporate Health, Safety, and Environmental policies and procedures throughout daily operations.

Responsible for overseeing and maintaining accurate records of inventory levels, stock movements, and tool availability to ensure operational efficiency and minimize waste. Tracks and replenishes supplies as needed, conducts regular audits to verify inventory accuracy, and identifies discrepancies or shortages that may impact workflow. Manages tool allocation, maintenance schedules, and calibration to ensure equipment remains in optimal working condition. Collaborates with procurement teams to forecast demand, optimize stock levels, and reduce excess or obsolete inventory. Ensures compliance with company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements pertaining to inventory and tool handling.

Monitor spare parts inventory levels and submit requisitions for restocking as needed.

Maintain workshop tools and equipment in optimal working condition through proper usage and regular upkeep.

Profile

A diploma or certificate in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering is required for this position.

With at least two years of hands-on experience in the maintenance and repair of generators, candidates should demonstrate a strong technical foundation in troubleshooting, servicing, and restoring equipment functionality.

Proficiency in diesel engines and electrical systems is required for this role. Candidates must possess hands-on experience troubleshooting and maintaining these systems to ensure optimal performance and reliability. A solid understanding of diesel engine mechanics, fuel injection systems, and electrical circuits is essential.

Familiarity with various generator brands, particularly Perkins, Cummins, and CAT, is considered a plus.
