Job Summary:

This role is responsible for ensuring Chief-Kenya adheres to all applicable Chief-Kenya, donor, and governmental policies and regulations. To accomplish this, the position will involve implementing and utilizing premier project management systems, contributing to the development of robust ERP internal controls, offering specialized guidance on donor-specific requirements and compliance standards, supporting contract negotiations and reviews, and fostering staff and business system capabilities to maintain alignment with contractual and donor obligations.

Responsibilities include performing a diverse array of tasks essential to the position, requiring a combination of technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and collaboration with team members. Duties encompass analyzing data, developing strategies, and executing projects to meet organizational objectives. The role demands meticulous attention to detail, adherence to deadlines, and effective communication with stakeholders at all levels. Additionally, the position involves maintaining accurate records, reporting progress, and ensuring compliance with established policies and procedures. Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in relevant tools, systems, and methodologies while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives within the team.

To maintain the effectiveness of existing internal control systems and ensure adherence to regulatory requirements set forth by Donor guidelines as well as Chief-Kenya policies.

Conduct thorough reviews of processes, practices, and documentation to identify opportunities for enhancement.

Quarterly donor compliance assessments are performed, followed by the compilation of a formal report for submission to the Board and CEO. This process entails examining representative documentation from Finance, HR, Programs, Logistics, Procurement, and Grants, as well as relaying observations to the appropriate staff or departments to facilitate corrective measures.

In partnership with the Board and CEO, you will offer technical guidance or conduct training sessions for all departments and staff regarding donor compliance matters.

Assist in developing Internal Controls and enhancing the finance, procurement, and reporting functions of the proposed Chief ERP system.

Develop and enhance internal control frameworks for ERP systems, playing a pivotal role in their design and implementation.

Assist in the development of Internal Controls and enhance existing business systems and reporting modules within the Chief ERP system.

Play a key role in conducting comprehensive risk assessments and maintaining accurate, up-to-date risk registers.

Investigations are to be conducted as necessary.

Qualifications and Experience:

A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, such as engineering, business administration, or computer science, is required. Additionally, a minimum of five years of professional experience in a related industry is necessary. Candidates must possess strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills to excel in this role. Proficiency in industry-specific software and tools is also essential. Prior leadership or project management experience is highly advantageous.

Holders of a Bachelor of Commerce Degree in Accounting or a closely related discipline, complemented by the Certified Public Accountant (CPA-K) qualification, are eligible to apply.

Certified Information Systems Auditor or Certified Internal Auditor credentials are required, along with a minimum of eight years of professional experience in auditing, accounting, and ERP implementation.

Demonstrated expertise in conducting audits for initiatives supported by USAID, CDC, and other international development collaborators is required.

Proven proficiency in both written and verbal English communication is required.

Exceptional organizational abilities, a keen eye for detail, and the capacity to prioritize tasks effectively are essential; moreover, proven capability to collaborate with seasoned professionals from operations and finance disciplines is required.

Proficient in utilizing Microsoft Office application software with advanced capabilities.
