Our client, a premier telecommunications provider, is seeking a Sectional IP Network Engineer to join their dynamic team. This role is ideal for a skilled professional with expertise in designing, implementing, and maintaining IP network infrastructure. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, performance, and security of network services while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver cutting-edge solutions. Job summary/ Job purpose/ Role Intent:

The Sectional IP Network Engineer–Field will ensure MAN network availability and customer uptime KPI compliance by performing on-site power-related maintenance for assigned MAN nodes, maintaining service quality and continuity in alignment with company KPIs, while adhering to budgeted cost constraints. Additionally, the role will involve executing feasibility assessments and implementing solutions, as well as handling billing-related disconnections and reconnections of ISDN and PSTN circuits at the MAN level.

Oversee a diverse range of critical tasks, including the management of day-to-day operations to ensure optimal efficiency and alignment with organizational objectives. Develop and execute strategic initiatives aimed at enhancing productivity, streamlining processes, and fostering innovation across teams. Collaborate closely with department heads to align cross-functional goals, resolve operational challenges, and drive cohesive decision-making. Monitor key performance indicators to assess progress, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective measures as needed. Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations to communicate findings, recommendations, and strategic updates to senior leadership and stakeholders.

Ensure uninterrupted MAN availability by proactively maintaining the power supply of the nodes.

Proficiently oversee and address MAN and Switch power-related issues in a timely manner, ensuring resolution is achieved within the stipulated Service Level Agreement (SLA).

Ensuring the customer remains fully informed by delivering key updates throughout the restoration process.

Perform feasibility assessments, implement, and manage disconnections and reconnections for ISDN and PSTN circuits.

The position involves creating and maintaining comprehensive documentation for customer setup processes, ensuring clarity and accuracy in all materials provided. Responsibilities include outlining step-by-step instructions, verifying technical details, and updating documentation as needed to reflect any changes in procedures or configurations. Strong attention to detail and proficiency in technical writing are essential to produce clear, user-friendly guides that facilitate smooth onboarding for customers.

Ninety percent of Nairobi’s Managed Service Access Nodes (Means) achieve a Power rating exceeding ninety percent, demonstrating a high level of operational efficiency and reliability across the network.

Within two hours of bill payment, 80% of disconnected lines must be restored to service.

Customer Service Level Agreement (SLA) management requires that 80% of all provisioning and cessation cases assigned be resolved within a 24-hour timeframe.

To ensure operational efficiency, 80% of reported faults must be resolved within a four-hour timeframe.

Perform quarterly routine maintenance on all MAN nodes, assessing power autonomy status and delivering tailored recommendations for each node.

Fulfill all assigned Feasibility tickets promptly, ensuring completion within a 24-hour timeframe.

Holders of a relevant academic degree and possessing substantial professional experience are required for consideration.

A relevant Bachelor’s degree or higher diploma in Telecommunications, coupled with specialized training in technology or engineering, is required.

Demonstrated expertise in utilizing Microsoft Office applications is essential.

You must possess a valid Kenyan driving license.
