Job Description

You will spearhead the creation, development, and execution of a cohesive Global Affairs strategy for Kenya, our flagship Sub-Saharan market and a pivotal player in Africa’s digital economy. In this pivotal phase of growth, you will serve as the primary strategic advisor on the ground, mitigating risks to Glove’s business model amid a rising tide of regulatory challenges.

The Global Affairs team comprises three departments: Government Relations, PR & Social Media, and Impact & Sustainability. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in influencing public policy to support our business goals, proactively identifying shifts in legislation and regulations, and cultivating our corporate image in the media. Additionally, you will champion our interests to secure a conducive operational landscape for the company. Your responsibilities will also include expanding our social media presence nationally, working in tandem with the Marketing team.

You will champion our commitment to sustainability and social impact initiatives, driving meaningful progress while upholding our core values. Serving as a strategic advisor, you will collaborate across all organizational levels at Glove to maintain cohesive and purpose-driven communication aligned with our company’s mission, vision, and guiding principles.

Join a dynamic team environment where you will have the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to shared goals and collaborative projects. In this role, you will engage in a variety of responsibilities designed to leverage your skills and expertise while fostering innovation and teamwork. Your contributions will be integral to the success of the team, as you work alongside professionals committed to excellence and continuous improvement.

Define, oversee, and implement Glove’s non-market strategy in public affairs, leveraging communication initiatives alongside impact and sustainability projects to enhance organizational success and credibility.

Orchestrate local consultancies and, as needed, partner with think tanks, industry associations, and other pivotal stakeholders to design and implement a comprehensive strategy.

Serve as a pivotal point of coordination between multiple internal teams, including Marketing, Legal, and Operations, to maintain cohesive alignment on strategic initiatives that tackle the nation’s most critical challenges while driving measurable business outcomes and performance metrics.

Conduct comprehensive evaluations of the local stakeholder landscape, regulatory frameworks, administrative processes, media dynamics, and social trends to provide strategic insights to management, spotlighting key risks alongside emerging opportunities and fostering the cultivation of appropriate relationships across these domains.

You will be responsible for personally engaging with senior stakeholders and facilitating high-impact policy discussions, serving as Glove’s primary representative in all such interactions.

Develop and execute strategic budget management, ensuring allocations drive meaningful and scalable results.

We are seeking a dynamic PR Communications and Social Media professional to manage our brand’s public image and digital engagement. The ideal candidate will have at least three years of experience in public relations, media relations, and social media strategy, with a proven track record of crafting compelling narratives and executing successful campaigns. Responsibilities include developing and implementing PR strategies, maintaining relationships with media outlets, overseeing social media content creation and scheduling, and monitoring brand mentions and industry trends. Proficiency in social media platforms, analytics tools, and crisis management is essential. The role requires excellent writing and communication skills, a creative mindset, and the ability to work under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Spearhead the development and implementation of comprehensive external communication strategies, with a primary emphasis on strengthening brand visibility, elevating Glove’s public image, and driving business expansion across both Corporate and Consumer PR domains.

Ensure Glove’s media communications maintain strategic alignment and consistency, fostering enduring relationships with journalists, media organizations, and influential tech industry thought leaders throughout the region.

Develop engaging social media content tailored for Instagram and LinkedIn, expanding reach to additional platforms where Kenyan audiences are active.

Evaluate performance indicators from public relations and social media initiatives to assess their impact, guiding leadership in making data-informed strategic modifications that enhance overall results.

Responsible for overseeing crisis communications activities across the region, delivering prompt and expertly crafted responses as required.

Driving impactful contributions while championing sustainable practices, this role focuses on developing and implementing initiatives that align with long-term environmental, social, and governance (ESG) goals. The position demands a blend of analytical prowess, strategic thinking, and a commitment to ethical leadership, ensuring measurable progress toward sustainability objectives. Key responsibilities include collaborating across departments to integrate sustainable solutions, tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess program effectiveness, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement through data-driven insights. Candidates must possess expertise in sustainability frameworks, strong project management capabilities, and a passion for creating enduring positive change.

Identify compelling opportunities to develop and execute a bold Impact & Sustainability strategy that fosters meaningful progress while systematically minimizing our adverse environmental and social footprint.

Facilitate the alignment of all impact initiatives with our Global Affairs objectives through the cultivation of essential alliances and the establishment of a strong institutional presence.

Leverage comprehensive global toolkits and data resources to synchronize the I&S strategy with our core business and global I&S plan, collaborating closely with the regional Africa Impact Lead and local teams to ensure efficient and effective execution while actively identifying new opportunities for partnership with local organizations.

Seeking a highly motivated individual with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, complemented by at least 3 years of hands-on experience in software development. Proficiency in multiple programming languages, including but not limited to Java, Python, and C++, is essential, along with experience with databases such as SQL and NoSQL. The ideal candidate should demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities include designing, developing, and maintaining software applications, conducting thorough testing to ensure functionality and performance, and troubleshooting issues to deliver high-quality solutions.

A minimum of seven to ten years of hands-on experience in Government Relations, Public Affairs, or Public Relations is required.

Candidates with leadership experience in fields such as legal and corporate affairs, industrial relations, or the public sector—even if seeking a career transition—are encouraged to apply.

You exhibit a sophisticated grasp of Kenya’s intensely politicized landscape and leverage informal channels to adeptly manage institutional connections and intricate governmental challenges.

You possess a creative approach to oversee social media initiatives, orchestrate influencer-driven consumer campaigns, and harness business milestones to solidify Glove’s position as both an industry leader and a vital socioeconomic contributor.

Agile Crisis Management: You thrive in high-pressure environments, making swift and effective decisions to navigate regulatory changes, media frenzies, or social media escalations while adhering to strict deadlines.

You demonstrate a strategic “doer” mindset, consistently favoring action over delegation, driven by a startup mentality that compels you to actively engage and take hands-on measures daily to protect and strengthen our business model.

Based in Nairobi, you will provide on-the-ground leadership with the capacity for immediate travel to any of our 12 operational cities as required. This role demands native or fluent English proficiency, coupled with outstanding interpersonal skills to navigate high-stakes engagements effectively.
