The Compliance & Risk Support division delivers strategic leadership, operational coordination, and specialized technical assistance to management associates, fostering heightened organizational risk consciousness, resilience, and adherence to regulatory standards. This division facilitates the detection, evaluation, and mitigation of critical risks spanning strategic, operational, financial, and safeguarding domains, thereby empowering data-driven decision-making and the enduring fulfillment of organizational goals.

The Crisis & Risk Management Support Professional is responsible for developing, executing, and enhancing enterprise risk management and crisis preparedness frameworks for managing authorities. This role delivers structured analysis, coordination assistance, and expert guidance to enhance risk-based decision-making and crisis response, ensuring alignment with organizational policies, governance structures, and risk tolerance. Additionally, the position assists in consolidated reporting and provides analytical materials and structured decision-support to senior leadership, including Executive and Institutional Boards.

Support the creation and ongoing maintenance of crisis response protocols, Strategic Response Assessments (SRA’s), contingency plans, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Provide coordinated analytical support in crisis scenarios, compiling comprehensive situation reports, structured briefings featuring data-driven insights and executive summaries for senior leadership. Additionally, assist in conducting after-action reviews and implementing lessons-learned initiatives to enhance organizational preparedness and resilience.

Collaborate effectively with safeguarding, humanitarian action, compliance, audit, finance, communications, and security teams to establish cohesive risk and crisis management strategies, offering specialized technical guidance and resources to Member Associations. Streamline the exchange of critical information across all relevant entities while guaranteeing strict compliance with established risk and crisis management policies and escalation protocols.

Implement and enhance an Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) program grounded in the COST 2017 framework—or the most current version available. Provide strategic guidance to leadership to ensure risk appetite aligns seamlessly with organizational objectives, performance goals, and protective measures.

Provide guidance on the design, upkeep, and rigorous evaluation of Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery strategies. Verify that essential business operations possess a viable contingency plan, confirmed through routine tabletop exercises and simulation-based assessments.

Requirements

A master’s degree is required, with preference given to candidates holding credentials in Crisis Management, Risk Management, Business Administration, Security Studies, International Relations, Emergency Management, Audit, Compliance, Business Continuity, or a closely related discipline.

A minimum of 10 years of professional experience in crisis management, risk management, internal control, audit, compliance, or related fields is required, with a strong working knowledge of ISO 31000, ISO 22301, and other pertinent standards.

With a minimum of five years of professional experience, you will have advised and reported on risk matters to international C- and S-Board levels.

Desirable experience includes involvement with international non-governmental organizations or federated systems.

Open to frequent travel, accounting for approximately 30 to 35 percent of the role’s obligations, ensuring readiness to undertake regular business trips as required.

Fluency in both English and French is required, with Spanish considered advantageous.
