JOB PURPOSE
To support the efficient clearance of refrigerated containers at the Port of Mombasa.
Oversee day-to-day duties and strategic initiatives to ensure operational efficiency and alignment with organizational goals. Develop, implement, and monitor policies, procedures, and performance metrics to drive continuous improvement and accountability. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to foster innovation, streamline workflows, and achieve measurable outcomes. Lead project planning, execution, and evaluation, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards. Provide guidance and mentorship to team members, fostering professional growth and a high-performance culture. Analyze data, report findings, and recommend data-driven solutions to address challenges and capitalize on opportunities. Prepare export documentation for customs clearance, ensuring all necessary paperwork is accurately completed and submitted in accordance with regulatory requirements.
Process all documentation within the PA system, specifically WATTS, ensuring accuracy and adherence to established protocols.
Secure the Key Performance Area (PA) port-related fees and expenses. Ensure all port charges are processed accurately and in compliance with established financial and operational protocols. Verify that billing and payment procedures align with contractual obligations and regulatory requirements. Monitor and reconcile port fee discrepancies to maintain financial integrity and operational efficiency.
Ensure all export documentation is accurately completed and promptly submitted to the designated authorities.
Upon entry at the port and subsequent connection at designated plugging points, verify the arrival of all containers, ensuring accurate temperature readings are documented for reefer units.
Once regulatory approvals have been obtained, shipments will be processed and released through the WATTS system.
Once the vessel has sailed, proceed with ensuring the plugging charges have been successfully completed.
Upon completion of loading and the vessel’s departure, conduct follow-up actions on Certificates of Entry (COE’s).
