Owning the complete benefits operations lifecycle involves administering medical insurance, pension, and welfare programs; overseeing enrollments, exits, and benefit modifications; addressing employee inquiries and coordinating provider escalations; and collaborating with brokers, underwriters, and benefits providers to uphold service delivery standards. Annual benefits evaluations, utilization monitoring, and employee communications are also key responsibilities within the role.
As the primary OH&S liaison, this role involves managing occupational health and safety coordination, including addressing OHMS-related inquiries, organizing pre-employment and routine medical assessments, overseeing FIBA claims procedures, documenting injury cases and incidents, and facilitating adherence to DISH reporting standards across all operational regions.
Overseeing the wellness and mobility support function involves orchestrating quarterly wellness initiatives, cultivating relationships with gym and fitness providers, evaluating program effectiveness, and aiding in employee relocation and international assignment processes, which include managing visa, work permit, and immigration documentation.
The position is responsible for overseeing vendor management, ensuring compliance with Service Level Agreements (SLAs) via Fresh service or comparable systems, tracking purchase orders (POs) and invoices, as well as maintaining reporting and dashboard frameworks that enhance the function’s visibility and continuous improvement.
What we’re looking for
Demonstrated expertise in HR operations, benefits administration, or HR Shared Services, complemented by hands-on experience in employee benefits, occupational health coordination, or global mobility support—preferably within a multi-country context.
Proficiency in Kenyan labor law, including the Work Injury Benefits Act (FIBA) 2007 and Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DISH) mandates, coupled with hands-on experience in occupational health initiatives or work injury management programs, and a solid grasp of East African employment regulatory frameworks.
A degree in Human Resources, Law, Business Administration, or Psychology—preferably at the master’s level or with HR certification—along with proven analytical skills and hands-on experience leveraging HR data to enhance operational performance.
