Our client, a prominent telecommunications company, is seeking to hire a Trade Development Representative to join their dynamic team.

Job purpose

Concentrate on conducting channel visits to enhance retailer awareness and improve SIM and Float performance, while ensuring optimal visibility and merchandising standards at point of purchase for SOS and Trash agents.

Oversee and execute critical tasks including project planning, execution, and monitoring to ensure timely completion while maintaining high-quality standards. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align objectives, resolve challenges, and drive efficient workflows. Develop and implement strategic initiatives to enhance operational performance and meet organizational goals. Analyze data, assess risks, and provide actionable insights to support informed decision-making. Ensure compliance with industry regulations, company policies, and best practices. Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement within the team. Serve as a liaison between senior management and operational staff to facilitate clear communication and alignment. Mentor team members to enhance skills, productivity, and professional growth. Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation to support transparency and accountability.

Effectively oversee the identification, recruitment, and strategic mapping of Agents, with a primary focus on mobile money outlets and high-traffic retail stores.

Regularly conduct visits to SOS and Agents in strict adherence to the agreed-upon route plans (beat plans) to ensure optimal coverage and engagement.

Provide essential transaction tools at SSO and agent outlets and conduct comprehensive training sessions for SOS and Trash Agents on operational processes.

Provide comprehensive Anti-Money Laundering (AML) training to agents, focusing on regulatory compliance and Suspicious Transaction Reporting (STR) obligations, while instructing SOS in the Know Your Customer (KYC) process as it pertains to the SIM Registration (SIM REG) framework.

Float and stock management duties involve overseeing and maintaining appropriate inventory levels for SIM cards and related products. It is essential to consistently apply the 1.5x stock rule to ensure agents have sufficient supplies while verifying that sales support officers (SOS) possess adequate SIM inventory to facilitate seamless new registrations and activations.

Develop and uphold merchandising standards by ensuring the availability of merchandising materials at SSO and Agent outlets.

Holds an advanced degree in a relevant field, such as a master’s or doctorate, and possesses extensive professional experience in the industry. Demonstrates a strong background in research, analysis, or practical application, depending on the specific role requirements. Exhibits proficiency in industry-specific tools, technologies, or methodologies, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives. Maintains relevant certifications or licenses where applicable, and adheres to ethical and professional standards.

A degree in Business, Marketing, or a closely related field—either a diploma or a bachelor’s degree—is required for this position.

Experience

With a minimum of one year of hands-on experience in sales and distribution within the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) or telecommunications (Telcos) sectors, you will bring valuable industry knowledge to this role.
