Position Summary

The Quality Assurance Manager will report directly to the Chief Operations Officer, overseeing all quality assurance functions while directing quality control initiatives throughout the supply chain. This role involves managing audits and compliance protocols, leading quality teams, and ensuring strict adherence to both local and international food safety regulations, as well as export standards such as Global. A.P., HACCP, BRC, phytosanitary requirements, and any customer-specific mandates.

Oversee and execute a range of critical tasks and obligations, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and operational standards. Serve as a primary contributor to key initiatives, collaborating across teams to drive efficiency and innovation. Manage comprehensive responsibilities, including strategic planning, process optimization, and performance evaluation, while maintaining strict adherence to policies and procedures. Provide leadership in project execution, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to quality benchmarks. Foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement, with a focus on measurable outcomes and sustainable growth.

Ensures adherence to quality standards and food safety protocols through systematic monitoring and evaluation of production processes. Develops, implements, and maintains robust systems to guarantee compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices. Conducts routine inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and implement corrective measures. Collaborates with cross-functional teams to foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement in food safety practices.

Develop, execute, and oversee robust quality assurance frameworks, food safety protocols, and stringent quality benchmarks that evaluate avocado attributes such as maturity, size, color, firmness, appearance, weight, ripeness, and overall product uniformity.

Supply Chain Quality Control entails ensuring that all processes, products, and services within the supply chain meet established quality standards and regulatory requirements. The role involves monitoring and verifying compliance at every stage, from procurement and production to distribution and delivery. Responsibilities include conducting audits, performing inspections, and analyzing data to identify trends or areas of concern. Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and knowledge of quality management systems are essential. Additionally, the position requires effective communication to collaborate with suppliers, internal teams, and stakeholders to address and resolve quality issues promptly. Experience in quality assurance, supply chain operations, or a related field is typically required.

Provide leadership and direction for quality assurance initiatives throughout the entire supply chain, encompassing sourcing, harvesting, packing, storage, transportation, and export operations. Perform systematic evaluations of incoming produce and maintain vigilant supervision of post-harvest handling procedures to minimize instances of bruising, spoilage, contamination, and product waste.

Ensures adherence to regulatory standards, conducts thorough audits, and maintains certification processes to uphold organizational integrity and operational excellence.

Ensure adherence to local and international food safety protocols as well as export regulations. Oversee internal quality assessments and facilitate external evaluations conducted by regulatory bodies, certification agencies, and export clients.

We address and resolve customer complaints while implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence. This role involves analyzing feedback, identifying root causes, and developing solutions to improve product and service quality. Additionally, we maintain thorough documentation of complaints and corrective measures, ensuring compliance with established standards and fostering continuous improvement. Strong problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail are essential for success in this position.

Investigate customer and export partner quality complaints, perform comprehensive root cause analyses, and institute corrective and preventive measures to minimize recurrence.

Guides and mentors a team through effective leadership and structured training initiatives, fostering both individual and collective growth while ensuring alignment with organizational goals.

Oversee a team of quality assurance inspectors and quality control personnel, delegating tasks, evaluating performance, and providing training to farmworkers, packhorse staff, and inspectors on quality benchmarks, sanitation protocols, food safety compliance, and proper handling techniques.

The position involves overseeing reporting, ensuring traceability, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. Key responsibilities include maintaining accurate records, tracking progress, and identifying opportunities for enhancement. Candidates must possess strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in relevant software tools. Experience in data management and process optimization is highly desirable. The role requires collaboration with cross-functional teams to implement best practices and achieve operational excellence.

Maintain precise quality records, inspection reports, traceability documentation, and certification records. Evaluate quality performance data to identify opportunities for enhancement, focusing on minimizing waste, enhancing product consistency, boosting export acceptance rates, and advancing sustainability and traceability initiatives.

Seeking a candidate with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, along with a minimum of three years of hands-on experience in software development or IT infrastructure management. Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or C++ is essential, along with strong problem-solving abilities and a collaborative mindset. The ideal applicant should demonstrate experience with system administration, cloud platforms like AWS or Azure, and a track record of delivering high-quality technical solutions. Excellent communication skills and the capacity to work in fast-paced environments are also required.

Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science, Quality Assurance, Microbiology, or a related field.

A minimum of seven years of hands-on experience in quality assurance, specifically within the food processing sector, is required.

Extensive expertise in quality control protocols, inspection techniques, compliance mandates, and food safety regulations is required.

Experience with quality management systems, laboratory systems, audits, and export compliance is beneficial.
