Provide technical assistance and resolve issues for end users, comprising 40% of the position’s responsibilities.

Act as the primary liaison for IT support inquiries from staff in Kenya and Madagascar, documenting each request by logging it into JIRA to ensure clear tracking and resolution.

Provide support to the Kenya & Madagascar IT Officer in the execution of local IT initiatives.

Offer comprehensive day-to-day technical assistance to end users, addressing inquiries and resolving issues related to standard computer applications and IT systems across Country and Field Offices.

Develop and deliver instructional content and guidelines, or instruct personnel on the appropriate utilization of hardware and software systems.

Deliver technical assistance and resolve user issues promptly through various communication channels, including email, phone, and other available methods.

Perform both preventive and corrective maintenance on desktop computers, laptops, scanners, projectors, and network equipment.

When the IT Officer for Kenya and Madagascar is away due to leave or other assigned tasks, the role involves providing temporary coverage, ensuring seamless operations across both regions. Responsibilities include maintaining IT infrastructure, troubleshooting technical issues, and supporting local teams to uphold service continuity. The position requires strong technical expertise, adaptability to varying demands, and effective communication to bridge any gaps during the absence.

Maintain a log of IT issues within the organization’s internal incident reporting system, documenting daily support requests, reported problems, and the corrective measures implemented.

Direct any significant hardware malfunctions, software issues, or defective products to the appropriate vendors or technicians for resolution.

Ensures the operational integrity of IT equipment and promptly escalates any critical failures to the Kenya & Madagascar IT Officer.

Install and set up new equipment for employees, ensuring all systems are properly configured and operational.

Acts as the primary liaison for mobile data devices, providing comprehensive support and configuration services.

Consistently oversee the routine backup of data from all computers while guaranteeing the security of the backed-up information at all times.

Analyze, design, and construct web or mobile application systems in alignment with user specifications and organizational guidelines.

Engage with system users to define the necessary specifications for updating existing systems or introducing new solutions.

Deliver comprehensive assistance to deployed IT innovation initiatives by promptly resolving software-related issues to ensure minimal disruption to operations.

Collaborate with the Kenya and Madagascar IT teams to develop Technology for Development (T4D) initiatives.

QUALIFICAITONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

Holds a degree in Information Technology, Computer Science (IT), or an equivalent field.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, along with hands-on experience in Windows client and server environments, is required.

Demonstrates proficiency in SharePoint and other Microsoft solution systems, with a solid grasp of their functionalities and applications.

Familiarity with Python and Java programming languages is considered beneficial.

Proficiency in Core View, Entra ID, and Active Directory, while beneficial, is not mandatory for this role.

Proficient utilization of Power Automate and Power Apps is required.
