Founded in 2002, Amnesty Kenya is a non-profit organization dedicated to advancing human rights and improving the lives of individuals across Kenya and neighboring regions. Our mission encompasses a broad range of initiatives, including but not limited to:
– Advocating for the right to adequate housing and safety in underserved communities
– Addressing sexual and gender-based violence
– Promoting education to foster improved relations between law enforcement and local residents
– Providing human rights education and fostering growth
– Engaging youth in leadership and advocacy for a sustainable future
Operating with autonomy from government, political affiliations, or religious influence, Amnesty Kenya relies primarily on the support of its members and public contributions to sustain its work. We envision a society where every individual—regardless of background—can fully realize the rights enshrined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and other international human rights frameworks. While our efforts have contributed to meaningful progress, our work remains ongoing to achieve lasting, systemic change.
