Role Description

We are seeking a full-time, on-site Business Development Manager – Pensions (Corporate/Retail) to be based in Nairobi County, Kenya. The ideal candidate will lead a team in uncovering and capitalizing on business opportunities within the pensions sector, cultivating and sustaining strong client relationships, and formulating strategies to expand market presence in both corporate and retail pension segments. Key responsibilities include designing and delivering compelling presentations, conducting comprehensive market research, evaluating industry trends, negotiating contractual agreements, and coordinating with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment with client objectives and organizational targets.

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field required. A minimum of five years of progressive experience in financial management or accounting is essential. Proficiency in financial software, such as QuickBooks or SAP, is necessary. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are crucial. Excellent communication and organizational abilities are needed to collaborate effectively with stakeholders. Attention to detail and a commitment to ethical practices are mandatory.

Established track record in Business Development, Sales, or Client Relationship Management within the pensions or financial services sector is essential.

Possesses advanced proficiency in conducting market research, analyzing data, and developing strategic plans.

Accomplished professionals must demonstrate exceptional proficiency in communication, presentation, and negotiation, ensuring clarity and effectiveness in all interactions. The ability to articulate ideas persuasively and engage stakeholders through compelling presentations is essential, while adept negotiation skills are required to reach mutually beneficial agreements and resolve conflicts efficiently.

A solid grasp of pensions administration, financial products, and regulatory compliance is essential. Familiarity with pensions administration processes, along with a comprehensive knowledge of financial products and adherence to regulatory requirements, is required.

A strong command of networking principles and the cultivation of client relationships are essential for this role.

Demonstrates strong self-motivation and a proven track record of achieving performance objectives without direct supervision.

A bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Marketing, or a closely related discipline is required, with a master’s degree serving as a favorable qualification.

Proficiency in the African financial services industry or pensions sector is highly desirable.
